well seeing as i mentioned onthis post that i`d be going for a bar B Q at kendal i thought i`d tell yas about it my boss let me and a few others work an early shift on friday so we would be able to get to the companys head office bar-B-Q- so i get up at 5am, work till 12.30- bike home, get a shower and changed ,etc 3pm go to woodrows pub and have 2 pints whilst waiting for the mini bus at 4pm to kendal get to the bar-B at about 5pm and its quite a strange feeling as most of the lads have never seen head office or met anyone down there so were a bit outcast and stick together (about 10 of us), most of the head office lot are with the wif n kids etc too so we knew it would be quite uneventful- the bar-B is half decent -big marquee with lots of bottles /cans of bud and other beers etc and dozens of bottles of wine all sitting in box`s of ice , as well as lots of food and stuff being cooked, and some bouncy castles and a motorized surf board for the kids to play on anyways we start drinking the bud thats there and after an hour more crates are brought out as were drinking it so fast- after 3 hours the bud is all gone and we look for some alternatives, well im not a bitter drinker so the only thing left for most of us was the wine , so were all pretty merry and drinking wine from the bottles like it was lager heh next thing i wake up , its saturday morning and i feel like crap, my sides are aching, really bad headache and a sore face, so i rub my hand over my face and my lip feels like a football, so i take a look in the mirror and i have a swollen black lip, black eye, graze under my eye, graze on my arm , scab on my elbow and a huge purple bruise on my hip- and i start getting a bit worried as i cannot remember anything after the 2nd bottle of wine i phone a work mate and ask him if he knows what happened- he tells me after the bar-B-Q we all went to the nearest pub and sat outside- there was a bit of banter going on between us lot and the head office lot- nothing bad, just slaggin each other off (jokingly of course) he then tells me the mini bus arrived and we were all getting up to leave the pub when someone (a workmate) said something that i took completely the wrong way - so i swung at him- well hes a amature footy player and quite quick on his feet so he dodged everything i drukenly threw at him- then another workmate interviened trying to stop the fracas but when he touched me i was in such a rage i threw a few punches his way too, and he threw some back, so someone else tried to stop the skirmish and once again i thought i was mike tyson and had ago at them but this guy is a big bloke and used to play rugby so he got me on the ground and sat on me till i calmed down lol, another work mate then tells me when we get back to town a few of them are going to a club as it was only about midnight so i ask if i can go with them- they say no because my face looks like its been in a car crash lol today i find out that one of the big bosses was in the beer garden and saw most of this (oops) so me and another workmate have been in the office today getting a talkin too, not a bollockin but the boss just letting us know how dissapointed he was that we made our firm look like a bunch of louts - heh- and to make sure that theres no friction in our firm, but apart from that he was ok with what had happened and just wanted it all to be forgotten so , the lesson ive learned this weekend is never mix the grape and the grain and i`ll never drink wine again lol p.s. they say bad news travels faster than good- some guy from a suplliers came in today and even he had heard about it lol - so it just shows how true that saying is heh
