Just wanted to say hello to everyone out there in OSA-land!!
I’m new to the site but definitely not to the scene. Been into dance music since the early electro/Chicago house days, but got into clubbing and stuff around 1990 or so.
I‘m based in Sheffield these days but originally from the midlands, so in the early days I could regularly be found in various states of disarray
at clubs such as Shelleys, The Eclipse, Coast to Coast, Quest etc. with occasional trips further afield to clubs like the Hacienda, as well as various raves and one-off parties.
In the mid-90s my favourite venues included C.R.E.A.M (Birmingham, not the crap one in Liverpool), Wobble, Bakers and Miss Moneypennys, and at the end of the 90’s Sundissential, the West End Bar and Passion in Coalville were the usual scenes of crime.
I don’t want to be the sort of member that just leeches of everyone else’s stuff, I have quite a lot of mixes and flyers from back in the day, so will try to make em available as soon as I get the time to rip em.
Still to get the ball rolling I have posted one of my fave Shelley’s sets to the mixes section of the forum, if you ent got it and you like yer early ‘90’s classics then it’s definitely for you, check it out.
I also play a bit, and have a fairly hefty collection of vinyl circa 1988-2000, it’s years since I’ve played in front of a crowd, but at some stage may pluck up the courage to blow the dust off em and play on the radio.
A big thanx to all at OSA that put in all the work, it’s a great resource, and nice to know there are still plenty of people out there that remember and love the old stuff as much as me.
