Hello have been lucky enuff to have heard a couple of exclusive Pianoman tunes that are out near you soon enuff I think. The 2 I've heard are 'Get Funky' and 'In my bass', I believe there are a couple more tunes on the vinyl that is to be released...
Thought I would give a quick review of the tunes to give you a taster of whats to come.
Get Funky
Starts off with orchestral strings and then a phat beat fades in, loads of rap samples, think, HiJack, MC Duke etc, done really cleverly over a a tinkly piano and a big funky house bassline, this all breaks down to the tinkly piano and then into a nice piano riff, hands in the air stylee, then, oh yeah!!!, Fast Eddie - Get funky throw your hands up rap samples come in over a phat breakbeat, then it all slams back in again and its fukin rockin, love this tune!! It breaks down several times more doing the same kind of thing, but slightly different each time, e.g one breakdown concentrates on the strings etc etc
In my bass
This one starts off with a phat house beat and 'bad boy' samples, then a little electro sounding bassline and scratch samples, tinkly lilttle piano adds another touch, and 'this is the one youve been waiting for' samples, this all breaks down into the piano and rap samples, and some really gorgeous strings, then a breakbeat comes in, nice and funky, onto the phat house beat, then these strings and this 'do not attempt to touch the dial' sample, then fuckin boom, this really mint piano comes in, love it well original. Of course it all slams in again we're off, has a really floaty and funky feel to it yet its rockin if you know what I mean. The strings are brilliant and that piano riff is fucking mint!
The piano riffs in these tunes are original work and not sampled (correct me if I'm wrong Mr Pianoman), very funky and modern sounding production with a big nod and a shake of hand to the vibe of the old skool. I'd fit these tunes into my pumpin house - nu-skool sets
I'll be bangin these tunes out when I get my copy!
Nice one Mr Pianoman, more please!!
