Hello peeps

I am tacking on more of a marketing role in my work place at the mo, and I need the name of some good art packages for work

I am looking for the sort of thing where I can manipulate pictures, things with really good fonts, colours, that sort of thing

It cant be too expensive, as this is a test thing for my work role, but I want somthing that will impress customers, looks good and exiting and is diffrent to PowerPoint

any suggestions

M Jaxx

Yeah, photoshop and Adobe illustrator are yer general used 2d graphics apps..... I am more of a mechanical 2d/3d CAD designer, so no expert on those apps really.

What I can defo recommend though is a look at a magazine called 'ComputerArts'. Tempted to buy it myself sometimes!. Take a look at http://www.computerarts.co.uk for a taster

See ya,

sirius.

Oh, By the way, they sometimes give some (full) awesome stuff for absolutely free on the cover CD. Sounds ideal for u me thinks.........And they may have downloadable stuff on the website(I havent checked).

3d studio max4!!!. Nightlife20, I know wot u mean :). A truely mindbendingly powerfull package virtually capable of making somet like 'toy story' in the right hands!!. Unfortunately not mine!.

I have 3Ds Max 3 and some good books on the Max series but I fear it will take some serious study to make owt good. I am doing your basic blocks and manipulating bends twists and spacewarps etc also playing about with text and kerning etc...I have created a few short product movies for my dad (just rotating a product round in 3d space) which really impressed the end guy. I drew it precisely though in Autocad MDT as an engineering drawing/model (as an acis solid) and 'iges' formatted it out to max then applied materials etc to it. Its gonna be good when I find the time to get my teeth into it I think!..........

Good luck with it. £8 you licky josser!. 17 quid for a decent book is very cheap for this app BTW....

See ya

3DS4 :S How many fekkin buttons!!!!

LOL! I use that as the render engine for my characters, but all the design work I do in poser, much easier! :)

M Jaxx, I tried replying to this on Sunday but as those of you who saw me Sat night/Sun morn will know - I was in no state to talk sense! :D

Photoshop is great for most graphical work, but if your doing serious marketing stuff (dtp for print based media) you really need to get your head round Quark.

As for powerpoint style animated presentations Flash is the dogs danglies, but quite a bit more complicated!
