Fix/Upgrade PC.

Alright Mate, I'm after trying to sort out my old pc by putting in a new mobo/cpu.

I'm presuming its the motherboard thats broke, when I switch it on nothing sounds like its firing up and I get 'no signal' on the monitor. No beeps either, an the HD defo ok cos I've had it out in my new PC.

Anyway I wanna upgrade it a bit as well to about 1500-2000mhz or maybe higher depends on price etc.

I've seen a few mobos an cpu's but dunno whats compatible with the bits I've got already (if they have to be at all!)

Here's my old specs.

Let us know what u could do for me.

Cheers.

Lee.

Your gonna need a new mobo/cpu/memory....not a great expense for a 2400+ (current low end). Probably around £100 notes for the lot, you ought to swap the vid card really too, but it isnt essential. Still in UK at the minute for another week. Can sort an exact quote out for ya when Im back in Spain next week.

Question for anyone!

will this mobo an cpu be ok to upgrade the above old specs(1st post)

Epox 8K7A (mobo)/Athlon XP 1800+(cpu)

plus, whats the diff beetween a amd athlon and a amd athlonXP??

am I right in thinkin the above cpu (1800+) is about 1500mhz in real terms?

all these are probably daft questions but I aint got a clue what i'm doin really, just hopin to wing it!
