Ever do this? I do it i dunno, every couple of weeks. I think about breathing, and them something weird happens and it goes out of sync, it takes a fair few minwahs to be able to breath properly again without thinking about it lol.

I always panic as well in that few mins, like my God, what if it takes this much effort from now on. Its like i can't breath enough, or what i am inhaling just isn't hitting the spot, so i breath out more which means i ain't got enough suck for the next breath in!

ive done that and then your thinking about having to breathe in and out and it seems like your having to concentrate to do it and it seems an effort, when its something you normally without thinking about. It does then take you a few mins to adjust to it and you feel like your going to forget to take a breath !!
Its a weird one and luckily i dont have it too often:D

Can't say it's something i've ever done:eek:

Is it like a panic attack or something?:S
Nah is it heck. Its just when you think about it it goes wonky, becuase you are putting thought into and trying to control it, when i guess its automatic.

I saw Lee Van Cleefe do that on The Master once:cool: He slowed his heart rate down so people would think he was dead, but he was just messing about:)

I stop breathing in my sleep, I've no idea this happened until a few years ago, I just lie there and then gasp one big breath after ages apparently, quite freaky lol

Other than that, can't say I've ever forgot to breath.

Good job it's automatic, as with my memory, I'd be dead for sure by now!

It's my number one subject at the minute cos of yoga. It's the only function that happens automatically, and you can alter/control. This is why the yogi's, buddhists, sufi's etc all concentrate on the breath in the early stages of meditation. It essentially focuses you your mind.

There's a hindu saying that the whole universe is contained in the breath, the inbreath (positive) the out breath (negative) the pause between (nothingness).

The feeling of nothingness (I don't mean this in a nihilistic way, think of a a kind of peaceful oneness with everything) is something that can be brought on by drug use, which is probably a hint of what Butty is talking about.

Spend a bit of time focusing on it, and you'll notice it becomes deeper, more life affirming. The healthy way to breathe is so your belly falls on the in breath, comes in on the outbreath. Most of us don't do this, unless we make a concious effort. After a while it comes naturally.

If you breath through your tummy, and its hard to describe how to do it, well if you do it just at the point of orgasm, it makes it feel more intense in the pelvic region. Probs is i am always so excited i forget to do it!

That's Tantric sex from what I understand, or some aspect of it.

Shoom probably knows something about it? ;)

It'll be physical as well as energetic I should think.

I'm going to shut up now, otherwise I'll be giving away all my secrets.

I thought tantric was all about the time scales, like it goes on for ages- not always reaching climax. What i mean is you can just breathe a certain way at any time, normal sex and it feels more intense. If i do it now, sort breath a certain way i can feel it in my groin.

Its about moving your breath or energy to certain centres in the body, and focusing that energy in those areas together to create union I think. I've only read one book on it. According to Tantric thought he belly has 2 major energy centres (chakras), in the solar plexus and one just below the belly button. there's also one right between your sexual organs and your bum, your heart, your throat, forehead and top of your head, and a load of other smaller centres. If you are focusing on these areas with your breath (meditation essentially) you can build up positive energy, which then increases the power of sex or sensations you are having with your partner. Its a bit of agiggle really, but I think its quite beautiful to be able to have that level of awareness and union with a partner. If you think about the nicest most loving sex you've ever had (rather than drunk and bent over the spin dryer on high type, which also has its place!) its probably due to the awareness you had of yourself, your partner and your body. That's pretty much what its about............
