Just wondering how everyone is getting on at the moment since the cost of everything has rocketed.

Since Christmas ive really started to notice the pinch with fuel. I only travel to Preston and back each day but im really noticing how much extra its costing me.

Thing is as well its preventing me from applying for jobs in Manchester and the like because i simply can not afford to get there. The cost of the train isnt any better either and i wouldnt save on a monthly basis bying a season ticket which is £135 per month .

Im really starting to worry at the moment as they still have not offered redundancy to me and they are not looking like they are going to, its looking like i may well be redeployed to a call centre. (which im absolutley dreading if they do) so im kind of in a catch 22 at the moment, cant afford to travel and dont want a call centre job.

Anyone else in suffering at the hands of the government

Fuel prices are just scandalous as are all utillity bills and food costs in short everything you have no choice to pay for is sky high

I am lucky as i have company car so i dont notice the price but its getting out of hand

Most high fuel prices just end up back hitting consumer prices any way its crazy

This time last year it was costing about £20 a week just to get work and back now it seems to be touching £40. I think the worst thing about it is if i use my car for work jobs i get 40p a mile (it's been 40p a mile for as long as I can remember)

Seriously fucking depressed. The car or van only move when absolutely necessary, its effecting my sport, its effecting my social life. Fuck alone knows how this is gonna effect volunteer trail building this year, i suspect i wont be able to make most of the meets, and seeing as i have been put forward for the MTB leader course and my name is down for countryside ranger for north lancs, i'm royally fucked.

I can remember when it went up to 1.16p p/l and the world quit driving, are we nowso reliant on cars due to useless public transport

It's been costing me £14 a day just travelling to Burnage, South Manchester, so the extra costs are very noticeable at the moment.

It isn't just us in this country being hit hard though. I've been to Finland and Germany this year and prices there are about the same, so we're all being screwed by the high oil prices at the moment:|

looks like i picked the wrong year to buy a car like mine lol, it's a bit thirsty ;)

luckily my round trip to work is about 7 miles so it's manageable, but i bet the prices are hurting ppl with longer commutes :S :(

Mainly Lee quarry, its only 15 miles from here, Gisburn is 40 each way, so its looking like the thick end of £15 quid just to get there and back at 33mpg
Healey nab is about 12 miles but just doesnt offer the varied riding of the other 2 big trail centres round here..
