Not sure its meant to be funny mate. Think it is a piece of social commentary with a play on words.

The shallowness of the media when millions are dying of starvation and its phone hacking all over the news.

What he said.

It is saying we should not be so concerned about phone hacking when thousands are dying of starvation.

The picture is supposed to shock us to our senses.

Which publication did it come from? If it's from a News International publication then i'd find it a particularly offensive smokescreen.

Looks like it came from The Times, a Murdoch paper.

I think it's disturbing the lengths they'll go to to try to take the heat off themselves:naughty:

You could just as easily argue in reverse that they are drawing attention to phone hacking simply by mentioning it again.

It could have been a distraction, but a very subtle one if deliberate.

You'd have had to have been on Mars or some remote far flung corner of Earth to have missed this story. It's everyday news and rightly so as the organisation has had effective control to an indeterminate amount (at present) of British politics and the metropolitan police force. That's on top of the disgusting practice of targeting ordinary people, some of whom have just lost a child and been befriended by the organisation, to find out years later that they were being spied on and in one case had some of their child's last messages deleted from their phone. It's a national scandal and rightly so, so for a member of the gang (so to speak) to attempt to divert attention away from it's criminal practices is shocking, given what the public now know and given that what we do know is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

For an alternate news group to have said ''enough's enough, now lets crack on with other stories'' would show incredible lack of tact, but to come from a Murdoch paper is disgusting in my eyes and anyone would have to be obtuse to fall for such a ploy.

Some interesting points of view.

I always see cartoons in daily papers to be there for humour, I just thought this one was not funny and in fact in poor taste. I did not read the paper, I got it by e-mail.... in fact I dont buy any daily paper as they are mostly full of 2nd hand news with an editors (either left or right wing) opinion and slant.

S

ps...does anybody get pissed off with the BBC and their left wing attitudes?? Find myself watching more and more Sky these days....im going more right wing!!:S ......what next Fox!!:|
