Good record shops

Im looking for a decent record shop to nip into when im up in the North East with work. Ideally for 2nd hand stuff but some new stuff as well, do any of the the North East massive know of any from first hand expierence and if so can you give me the postcode to.

Used to be an ok one in the forbes buildings in middlesbrough..but i did most of my 2nd hand record shopping in hudds so can't really help unfortunately.

Ed, you're probably the best place to get records from in the North East!

used to be in the byram arcade...dead wax it was called...but i'll be surprised if its still there tbh...its 11 years since i stepped foot through thiose doors.

oldhitz is a decent second hand store in the centre of Newcastle

you have to have a good 'ratch' tho'

theres also that one up on Ridley Place/Vine Street between the haymarket metro station & the city hall, cannot think whats it called :S (is it oldhitz aswell??)
good selection of second hand vinyl upstairs, again have to have a good 'ratch'

as for new stuff HMV are suprisingly well stocked!

There is a good one in Stockton towards the bottom of the high street. Cant remember the name (sound of wax or summat). Havent been there for 3 years but worth a riummidge and get talking to the owner who will get you stuff from out the back and let you look behind the curtain

Aye mate a nar what one ya mean, its just behind the job center its canny good, where i got originals of Last Rhythm, B.M.EX, PKA, them sorta tunes...
