Right were do i start on this one then . . . .

It is with deep regret i have to inform you all of the expected outcome of goins on with our legendary home & birthplace and also one of hudds longest and most famous venues ( Rhythms in indigo / Beyond beach babylon )

It is looking more than likley that the club will close with immediate effect after our next event on saturday january 15th . . . . . . a lot of things have been goin on beind the scenes so to speak that have led to this appening , with various court battles with local residents etc due to complaints / petitions because of the noise from the club while its open ( as while the club was closed for 2 years they decided to build flats on both side streets thinkin the club would never reopen obviously ), now the club as been reopen for over a year and a half the neighbours have been doin there best to get the club closed since then , combined with various big money makin companys trying to get the guy who owns the whole buildning to sell so it can be made into more flats / bussiness propertys , ( the local council also want to see this happen as suddenly they have decided that that area is now a residential area !!! ffs its in the town centre !!! lol )

so come monday jan the 17th when the club owners are in court to renew there licenses so they can continue running as a night club , the council are set to refuse them and deny any renewals on there licenses :( :( which means the nighhbours / council and companys are all winners in this matter , just the clubbers of huddersfield are not and are set to lose what is one of the finest and best lookin venues about , there is nothing that can / could be done to stop this , as it would be a battle lost before it even started :(

im gutted (as many of u will be too i bet ) to say the least as im sure many of you that know me personally will know this :( as this was the birthplace of goodtimes way back in 1999 and as seen many of the best Goodtimes weve ever had during our time as an old skool event :) the last boxin day being one of them . . .

BUT i will say this . . . . . . .

this is NOT the end of Goodtimes , not by a long shot i aint brougt GT this far to stop it here . . . . we will be relocating to a new venue ( some disscussions are starting this week to find a alternate home weather it being temperary or perm for gt ) Goodtimes is now in to its 6th year which is something not many old skool nights in todays scene are able to or have ever acheived , there is many that have followed is from day one , and many on here that have followed / attended our events since the good old afterdark days . . :)so id like to thank you all for your support you have shown me and goodtimes . . . you need not get too down as unlike many nights that just fade away etc . . . . . . WE WILL NOT !!!!

Goodtimes will be back , and be back with avengance :) :) and continue are mission to become the most well known and everyone favourite old skool event in the north of england

So if you can make it get yourselfs down next week for our FREE ADMISSION EVENT to see the venue off with a phat night , get ya sens down and lets fookin ave it big styleeee :) :) obviously wed have liked to have been able to hold and advertise a "last ever goodtimes @ BBB " but the way things have happened we are not able to :(

ill end by just sayin once again , i cant thank you lot enough for the support youve all shown goodtimes and myself over the past couple of years it will always be remebered !! and i hope to repay this by bringing you more "quality old skool nights" as ONLY goodtimes knows how !!

See many of you this comin saturday and watch this space for Goodtimes returning in style . . . :)

no way thats well shit Ben, typical council , also convenient way of them making miles more from council tax from a big arse block of flats that they ever would from a club.

u should try and get the afterdark back if u can:cool:

Awww Ben i cant believe it mate, am really sorry to hear that,as im sure every1 will say, thou we all cud see it cummin :( Take it tha petition dint cum up trumps as we had hoped.
Tis a damn shame too as the club itself looks ace inside, seems a shame to smash it all up to make way for tiny shitty flats :(
Bloody crap that the council n that can do that just to benefit themselves, and prob keep the residents quiet. Like u say, its a town centre for christs sake, next they'll be wantin the railway station down the road movin coz the train's r too loud!!! wat the fook do they expect

soz again Ben, am sure u will cum throu on top in tha end! Here's to many more top nights at Goodtimes to cum  and will deffo see you there for one more top night! :p

Ben

Well sorry to hear this fella. Out of the three venues i had been too that was by far the best one overall in terms of size, sound and atmosphere.

Good luck finding a new venue fella. Will be there next week to see you off in style bud.

Sorry to hear about this Ben - tis a top venue but was only appreciated as that due to the Good Times nights that were held there.

As you know people went to Rhythms in Indigo cos Good Times was on there, not just cos there was a club open there - you'll take your followin to pastures new with you......

All the best with your plans mate.....

shame that as it was a top venue.

I've no doubt though that you'll find somewhere else and probably it'll be bigger and better and goodtimes can keep on rollin'

good luck with it all.

Really saddened by reading this Ben - sorry to hear the club is closing. Its a great venue and the council, like many in this country I'm afraid, obviously have no idea whatsover.

Goodtimes though is about goodmusic + goodpeople = goodtimes. F**k 'em Ben - let them make the mistake of closing it down - you'll be back with a vengeance I know it and we'll support you all the way....

I have to say i'm absoloutley gutted
That place is legendary. Since before the last time it shut down, when i was first gettin into clubbin i used to hear loads of stories off everyone older than me about babylon, all the mint nights they'd had there, it was talked about so much, it was huddersfields original raving ground for the generation above me. Then when it reopened it was such a bonus after hearing so much about it and what i'd missed out on, it was like a privilage to be there the second time around lol. it sounds sad but living in hudds i've grown up hearing about babylon so its dead emotional hearing its being turned into shitty flats. i know loads of people that are gonna be absoloutley gutted, especially the ones that used to go there the first time around.

goodtimes will be fine though, its got through the same problem in the past n its got a big name for itself. Wherever u put it people will follow ben.

if only they hadnt converted the cornmill into a shitbox restaraunt or whatever it is now :( i cant think of any other particularly decent big enough venues :|

I had a good idea of the club closing down....but not this soon, and its truely gutting to see Huddersfields( and probably the norths) best venue shutdown because of that scummy fuckin council who obviously dont give a shite about peoples livelyhoods and the clubbing community of Hudds who were just trying to find somewhere different to party as appose to these shite, corperate, dog shit, cheese ass night clubs that Hudds is full of ( you know the ones...nuff said!!!)
Rhythms is an alternative club thats all about the people and more importantly-the music, and it kills me to have this taken away!!!
This is by far the best place i've ever dj'd and clubbed and it will be hard to find a venue that has such a warm, homely and layed back vibe, but i have every bit of faith in the GT returning in a fine style...good look lads, every one is behind you 110%!!!!
Rest in peace Rhythms....may the memorys be with us for a long time to come.......
