Approximately two years ago I packed all my vinyl, decks, mixer, etc up and put them in my storage closet. For some unknown reason I got the urge to set them up again and start to use them. Since doing so I have treated myself to a new modern mixer, slipmats, vinyl flight case, and a few records. I'm debating whether or not to get some decent carts. As soon as I played the first record I got a big grin on my face and felt really good. You really can't beat the analogue sound of vinyl.

Do it mate...depending on ur cartridges, you can get copied styli now for a fraction of the price...gotta keep the the boy inside alive...
I gotta say, the only reason that I went for these Ortofon condords (scratch pro) was that they were prob what I percieved to be the mutts nutts last time around for me...if I am perfectly honest, they're too light , the arm sticks out too much and 1 stylus was actually bent stoopid and has been sent back to the supplier for a replacement. Thinking of getting some new styli for my Stanton 500 carts or buying some Sure's...tip here though...don't go to the DJ Superstore in Southend...or even use them online, they're pants and after visiting the shop twice I can see exactly how much stock they do NOT turn over, I fully expected to get a replacement stylus in the shop, not to have to wait and send it off for inspection...just incase I'm a fkn con man or sumthin...and tbh, any shop that can't let me loose on a Rane mixer , or any other mixer they claim to sell, that I am prepared to buy then and there..can fich erf...if you live in the southern hemisphere like me...it's a trip down to the smoke and an oyster card party.
I've just ordered some Stanton Diablo Concorde style carts, I thought they were cheap at £68 for the pair, and they have good reviews. I'm not a very gifted DJ. My mixing skills are limited. I wish I had some Technics, I was looking at them and they are going for silly money. They're only going to go up in price as time goes on. I just have some Gemini's. they do the job for me. When I can afford some, I'll get some.
