Im not tryin to justfy what i paid here but i think all the vinyl collectors on here will understand when i say that a record isnt just a tune its a sort of memory. When this tune was being played i was 14 /15 years old just startin to get pissed n listening to this kind of music!

Does this make sence to anyone or have i got my head up my arse?!?!?!!?!?!? :axe:  :$ :p ;) :S :bj: :pixie:

If you want that tune Dolly m8, then you do ur damdest to get it!! I nearly, very nearly coughed up £100 for the original Italian Style of 'Quasimodo - Let it Out', until the very kind Pauly P said he had it n he was sellin it for £4. If he hadnt of been sellin it, I would of bought 'Quasi' for a ton!!

Tune an half.

Me and Tall Paul were sayin in the pub the other day that was the tune we both always rewound on your CD to hear again. It's always easy to find the start an all - just go back to that dubious "and who should we find in the carpark after the gig has finished - Chris Biskit" bit - lol

Dolly piss-taking aside, I'd have probably done the same if I felt that strongly... If you're happy then that's the only thing that matters.... but as someone said further up this thread, no way I'd want to play it and wear it out.

Well guys, and gals, it's been a while since I was last on here and this was the first thread I looked at. Is this some kind of joke that I've missed or something? I just downloaded DJ KARMA, and after listening to it once it went straight to the recycle bin. £820 for that? You must have been p*ssed...

The chorus is maybe worth a tenner at most, but I'd deduct a fiver for that rap, and then knock another £4 off coz it sounds like it was sequenced and mixed by a ten year old. So I reckon it'd be worth about a quid. ;)

Have been reading through this thread and thought I might add my humble opinion. There are loads of different reasons people would pay mega bucks for records. The main one I believe is the memory & emotions factor which was mentioned previously. Different records have different meanings for different people. I am sure everyone has a tune that brings a tear to their eye or makes the hair stand up on the back of their neck, whilst thinking of good times in the past. Rare tunes that you couldn't get hold of years ago 'cause you didn't know the name and there was no Gemm etc or sites like this with id sections passed you by. Now people know what they are, supply and demand comes into effect. If there were only a few hundred pressed but the tune was on a mixtape that was getting passed up and down the country, and you were listening to it sitting down the park or in yer mate's bedroom or at a party getting trashed and having a ball - you want to get those memories back! At my first allnighter in '91, there was a squad of my mates and it was one of my best nights ever. Every DJ in the place played Awesome 3 - Hard Up in their set as it was just out and Together did a live PA with Hardcore Uproar. I have two copies of each of these tracks and although they are reasonably easy to come by I would never part with them even for £820 quid!! Anyway, my point is this - noone can criticise or question anyone elses reasons for paying top dollar for a tune. If it's one that makes you feel good within yourself, then it's worth every penny.

;) Mig

PS - Had the pleasure of seeing Orville & Keith Harris do a live PA in a mucky field in Ayr in 1992 in a big tent and must also confess to owning that particular record!! :$

my ten penny's worth

funny how i only own about 4 italian records after 1992
...........................probably because their tosh.......£820 for this................i thought dj mpg was a bit of a legend....not any more..............this record is pants. its all out of sink the female vocal is sooooo cheesy and the rapper.....mmm

I thought forking out £30 for together "storming heaven" (sasha dmc mix) was expensive and hey thats...sh&t (strange how the sh&t tunes sell for loads and good ones sometimes don't even make a few quid)
The only reason i bought the yogether ep was i wanted it for.........the love bug.

ps i've got about two hundred crap records which i don't want.......who will give me £20,000 for them (i fancy a new sports car) i'll even chuck in postage
