Has anyone ever done anything heroic??

I did something once worthy of a mention

It was over 10 years ago mind LOL

I was outside sainsburys in stockport and they used to have these metal roller shutters that came up and down by the flick of a switch, well mild mannered ste huxley, was stood there being generally unheroic, meanwhile this guy was lay down on the floor with his head on the ledge where the rollers come down:|

Next thing you know, the shutters started to come down, anyway didnt really think anything of it til this guy (who must have been asleep) was beginning to get his head squashed by this metal roller!! I ran, tad da darrr!!! and lifted the roller up while it was digging into this guys heeeed!, but it was still coming down with more force so it was rolling forwards, I was struggling to keep it held up, and at the very last moment this guy managed to twist his head to one side and escape from the rollers.All the meanwhile I was shouting for help but did anyone come, did they fk. Anyhow this guy had a large dint in his head like a very wide cut, it was ming. The sainsburys people came out and said, (while this guy was in and out of consciousness) its his own fault for being under the rollers) I said something to the effect of, you pricks get an ambulance and then walked off into the busy urban streets of stockport like a hero does etc, hahahahahahah

Yeah so anyone else been heroic?

PS Funnily enough they dont have metal shutters anymore.

Well done that man, I once stoped a shipmate from being draged over board, he got his leg tangled in some rope, I cut the rope, saved his leg, if not his life

I once saved a womans life when i was nursing, she went into cardiac failure and i kept telling my senior nurse but she did fuck all and kept saying, "oh she does this sometimes, just ignore her!!!" but i could tell that something was seriously wrong so i took her vitals and she hardly had any pulse so i went completely against the senior nurses desision and called the paramedics (it was only a small hospital and we had no in house doctors or A+E) and kept her going, they got there just in time to give her resuss and she lived.

I have never been is that kind ov situation but if i was i would be dashin to the rescu ,i once saved a little birl that fell from the shed roof after his mum abandonin him kept him in a little shoe box and fed him bread soaked in milk with my tweezers he sadly died but at least i try'd to help the poor little mite

when i was fifteen I saved a girl who was choking to death on her own vomit. Not much else springs to mind though really

My son choked on something when he was on holiday with his dad, his dads girlfriend got it out for him thank god, i cried just when he told me about it, i'd have been hysterical if i'd actually been there i reckon!!!!!

I stopped a fella from jumping infront of a train. Silly fooker scared the daylights out of me.

Also found a bloke knockout by my house once. He had fell of the kirb and landed right on his face he was a proper mess. Rolled him into the recovery postion as he was gurgling on his own blood, kept him awake by pinchin his ear, an chatin shite to him. Found out later his heart stoppped on his way to hospital. He only lived 8 houses away from me. His son took me out for pints of the STELLA.
First aid courses rule I suggest EVERONE take them you never know when they might come in handy.

I saved a lad from drowning once in a river on the way to school, he was about 7 I think and I was 11, I just jumped in and scrambled to where I reckoned he'd pass next and waited and sure enough along he came, just grabbed hold of an arm and helped him out - wasn't sure about first aid or owt, as had no idea, so just hit him on the back a few times (lol) and he coughed up a load of murky water :S

Earlier this year I saved my dads life, probably one of the most harrowing experiences, even though it wasn't gruesome or owt, when it's family it really hits you hard.

He's diabetic, and I met him on a Saturday morning for a natter and a bit of shopping, he walked round the supermarket like he was drunk or drugged - well mad, as he is tea total and has never touched drugs, and I couldn't work out what was up with him. I asked him several times and he just didn't reply, which worried me further. I'd just finished a nightshift and wasn't 'with it' myself fully, and we got to the bread section and he knocked one of the displays flying, and I grabbed him, took him to one side and told him to stay put, spotted a member of staff who I called over and they got him a wheelchair to get him over to the first aid room.

He just sat there with his eyes shutting and it was like it wasn't me dad at all, almost like he'd been taken over by this zombie who was just sat there, eyes all kinda greyed out and closing.

Anyway, they'd called the paramedics, who arrived rapid, and as they were asking me a few questions, I said "oh, he's diabetic" and wondered if he'd done his morning injection ok, so they did a test and he was far too low blood sugar, so they said they'd have to give him sommat sweet, quick to see if that helped, else he'd go into a coma

I had to keep talking to him and several times he tried to look at me, but he didn't even know who I was, and wouldn't eat anything, so me and the paramedics had to force him to eat some kit kat and drink down some lucazade, which he hated :S

It didn't do any good as the level had hardly gone up, so they had to get him to hospital to go on a drip.

So there's us, bundled into the ambulance, heading off to Stepping Hill at top speed fucking gave me the fear.

And all the time I'm talking to him to make sure he stays with it, one of the hardest things to do that was.

Hospital eventually managed to get him on a drip and get the levels right, and at around lunch time he was allowed back home, so I got a taxi back to his and made sure he was ok, then got back home meself, but which time it was 2pm and I was fooked after all that, got into bed and burst into tears :$

Thanks Lisa! I just put it down to luck of the draw though really - shit happens in life and you have to deal with it...There was no decision to make really, he'd do it for me kinda of thing and he's now got his life back - so its all good!

Plus he took me on a pucka holiday to recover!
