Hi guys, I`m an 18-year old DJ and I`m fascinated with the early 90s sound. Unfortunately I wasn`t there when it was all happening, mainly because I was probably 2yrs old at the time :) I`d really like to learn and listen to more of this stuff. That`s why I registered here.

Also, if someone could point me to some dj`s from that time and to some of their classic sets (preferably some download links), I`d be very grateful. So far I`ve only listened to some old Sasha sets(great btw, especially the ones at Shelleys) and some Vertigo and Ratpack sets.

Also any soulseek users in here? Would love to see what you guys got. I`m slowly building my collection here :) Thanks

hi mate, welcome to the site, great to see some of the younger generation on the site.

sasha was hard to beat around that time, apart from him my favourites in the early 90s were daz willot, nipper, steve williams, tony ross, rob jay etc. there were others like dave ralph that had the tunes but not the mixing at that point in time, and some of the northern djs like mike woods and darren noguerol were good too, although being a suvvna i only found out about them recently lol

tbh though i gave up listening to old sets ages ago, the sound quality is usually poo and the mixing is nowhere near as good as some of the ppl on here. it depends what kind of tunes ur into of course but my favourite djs on here include:

adam wilson
alex bennett
barrie jay
blackburn bod
blue jammer
cano
ceejay
jiglo
miss saysay
mr radish
monty
northern star
pete-nic
presuminged
ste huxley
tony ross
woody

i could go on but i'd end up naming everyone lol, sorry if i missed anyone out these were just the first names that sprang to mind. all well worth a listen if u get the chance to hear any of their mixes. they don't all play regularly on the radio these days but u should be able to find some sets in the mixes section

enjoy the site m8, hope to see u on the shoutbox some time :)

Thanks alot, I`ll be downloading this all day :)

no worries m8, i'd recommend these for starters and take it from there:

i don't know what tunes ur used to hearing but from ur earlier post it sounds like a fair bit of hardcore with some pianos thrown in. these aren't as hard as the stuff u might be used to listening to but if i had to spend the rest of my life on a desert island i'd take these along with the blackburn bod n presuminged sets i've got ;)

please remember to leave some feedback tho m8, it means a lot to the djs
