I'm pretty sure I used to post here EONS ago but anyways, here goes.
I'm a middle aged, middle spreading EX-DJ who resides on the Isle of Man. I was lucky enough to be resident in most of the Island's clubs as the scene blew up in 1990-1995. Through this I was the first to book big name DJ's to come and play: Dave Seamen, Martin Pickard, Welly (who remains a great mate to this day still), Al Mcenzie, Bassheads, Angel amongst others. I also got lucky enough to play out in Ibiza, Canada, Jersey, Manchester, Oldham, Brighton, amongst others before things took a bit of a bad turn over here and I jacked.
I since took things up again and have brought over Graeme Park, Peter Hook, The Happy Mondays, Clint Boon and now occasionally (try) to DJ at the odd Old Skool night I put on. It was actually Mark Todd, who plays on here sometimes, who got me tuned back into the site.
It's great having a read through of your stories / choons / moments as they remind me of just how groundbreaking it all was back in the day. I've got one or two tales myself that I'll let loose on you all sometime soon, I'm sure.
