Old Skool Hardcore fan from San Francisco, California here. My first time hearing this sound was when I stumbled to a underground college radio station and a dj was mixing legit tunes all night. I was blown away by the tempo,bass,drums and the creative use of samples drawing on hiphop/reggae/electronic. At the peak of the "rave" scene I was much too young to go check out a party then. Nonethelessit didn't stop me from checking out the vinyl shops and picking up records or listening to whats new at the time. The scene and that sounds was short live.I'm still impressed by the amount of music that came out during 1991-1992 and early 93. Years have passed and I'm still a big fan of this sound. Still listening and searching for tunes. I have but a handful of ID's that i still want to find out and that is one of the big reasons I joined the community. Hope to discover tunes I haven't heard before and most of all hope people can help me ID some tunes have been bugging me all these many years!
Just to give an idea of a particular sound i like here is a list of some of my favorite tunes.
