solution????????

Easy lad, what did you have on the A floppy disk?. Put it back in and try and reboot the machine.

If you have no joy, reset the system and press F2 when the system starts to go into the BIOS settings. Once there make sure the harddisk gets the priority boot instead of the floppy. That may work, not sure with out being there though.

Hate to say so lee but i told you so lol. The reason that message comes uo is it cant find the right info to boot the pc properly just like if you had left a floppy in and the pc looked at the floppy first before your hard drive.

Think the guy that did ya system restore is a numpty if he didnt check out your hd. You can either go back there and tell them wat you think is the problem or if you bring it over here i will get ya a hd and bang it in for ya. Bring K-T over and we can get some beers in and have a mess on the decks.

Let me know wat ya want to do but new hard drive looks like a certainty

easy, hold your hourses there mate,im sure theres a way round this.

1.You could make the boot from cd an otption in BIOS, then put the windows XP CD (IF YOU HAVE WINDOWS XP) and from there you can repair or install the files that your missing to get the computer up and running.

2. You could try booting the system with the (LAST CONFIGURATION SETTING THAT WORKED) from the start up.

3. If the harddrive is fooked, you can still retrive the information from it by piggy backing it on another computer.

Try this forum mate, its full of people in the know about these problems and im sure they will be able to help you.

Hi mate

He was getting an error before this that i looked up and said it was a bad sector that was causing it. He has taken in to be looked at but they have just done a system restore with the manufacturers discs so i dont think there will be any good last configuration points on the pc. As for the data on the drive as it was recently formatted that wont be a problem to him. His mp3's are on a seperate hard drive in the pc.

Fao Lee

If you still get that error message you told me about let me know wat it is again and we can double check.
