where've you been hiding?! only deleted the bands that i know little about. all the others...cooooooooommme on! bon/bri/bon/bri/bon/bri/etc etc  for me elder brother it's bon, all the way. even though he did go see them on the "for those about to rock" tour in '82. i was 11 then and had been listening to the bon era albums but was blown away by back in black. for those about to rock was one of the first albums i ever bought. even though me brother went to the gig he didn't buy the album. he loved back in black but even in 1982 i can remember him saying, "he (bri) ain't as good as bon." after the second bri album i didn't buy any of their records. i went to see them in 1988 on the "blow up your video" tour at birmingham NEC. totally awesome, but still craved the bon era songs they did that night. fast forward to 2008 and i hear/buy black ice. FUCK ME! i know they'd been releasing stuff over the years but it was like they'd never been away. got tickets with me brother to see them at wembley in 2009. earlier in the tour me mates had seen them in manchester and another lad saw them at punchestown race course in ireland. the word coming through was they were better than ever! the gig at wembley was probably (i try to think of others that were better but i can't) the best gig i've ever been to. fave band, fave songs, great weather, loads of booze, clean toilets (i'm getting old) and with me brother. it was like it had come full circle. him educating me in the ways of DC. him seeing DC. me seeing DC. then seeing DC together. so bon or bri for me? i love'em both. can't split them because then you've got to split the band's era's. were DC better with bon or worse with bri? a question i don't want to answer. in february i saw digweed in liverpool. i wore my "ac/dc est.1973" t-shirt. throughout the night various people came up and showed their appreciation for the band with a thumbs up. others chatted to me in the queue for the bogs about iron maiden and thin lizzy. eventually one fella came over and said, "what's your fave album". i replied right now...highway to hell. he nodded and then said, "what do you think of powerage?" i gave my thoughts on it being the forgotten DC album. he smiled, introduced himself and we sat off by one of the bars for an hour talking about DC and rock music. halfway through the conversation he told me he'd been testing me with the powerage comment because most people he saw wearing DC t-shirts were clueless hipsters jumping on the retro band t-shirt wagon. he knew i was the real deal when i replied about his choice of fave album. my views on today's pop music will be in another post. :D
