A bit about myself - The first House night I ever attended was on a Monday night at the Village, Blackpool in the Summer of 1988. I was 18 at the time and I found the whole experience amazing - really fresh and new and above all, the music being played was brilliant. As a youngster, I had started getting into Hip-Hop around 1985 buying all the Electro compliations, so I felt as though this new scene was just up my street if you know what I mean.
After that, I started attending the other local venues that were staring to spring up such as Shaboo, Oz & Sequins - as well as venturing further afield to the Blackurn warehouse parties and such.
Fast fwd a couple of years and I bought a couple of 1210's and started to buy records, but for me it never went further than DJ'ing in my bedroom and at a few local parties, etc. but that's OK - For me, the main thing was the music.
So here I find myself 20 years on still enjoying the same music with as much zest as I did back then. I'm just grateful that people behind such organisations as OSA do what they do to make all the great tunes of yesteryear available to us to enjoy all over again.
My decks & records have been gathering dust in the loft for a few years now but I'm feeling the urge to set them up again - you never know
Thumbs up to OSA and all who sail in her!
