Hmv This is the place I wanted to work when I was younger I used to go into here and bought quiet alot of vinyl but then ventured around the corner to 3beat and groover records and started to pay quiet a few bob for my vinyl but found all the lovely music I really wanted there. But the hustle and bustle of being in the shop I just loved in the late 80s but as time passed it deffo was to expensive and I fell in love with the way you could go into groover records and three beat and get the piano style of choons played on 1210s in the shop and pumped up really loud so you got that club feel in what could only be called a box room all the vynil in boxed up D.I.Y shelving and tapes and mixes mixed that weekend by your fave dj all in one box. Sorry to H.M.V but to be honest the music shop has ripped us off for years and even tho vinyl is loosing its value in places to me its like having another chance to own stuff that was worth a packet back in the day bring on more of it I say. I would never sell me vinyl and even tho I have bought and sold me decks over the years I would be very upset if one day I had to say goodbye to my vinyl. Its heavy it takes up to much room and it takes a lifetime to siff through and clean but I just couldnt ditch it as soon as I put a record on the deck It takes me back to being in me bedroom. 15 years old with what can only be called two wanna be decks and trying to beat match two copies of the same song as speed control was all done by the hand as technics where past my school days budget and my grandad just thought you needed two decks and no mixer lol. I can't understand how anyone can sell there choons "please if you want to its up to you its just not for me". you know they have mounted these over the years and I find people selling there whole collection for buttons to make room:confused: I have managed to get more in the last 5 years as techno updates mp3 hardrives and all that shizz has took over. Im just glad I had a chance to spend a lifetime in these record shops collecting as downloading is a 5 min thing. Being able to spot a label and sift through an endless amount of vinyl in a shop of fellow vinyl loons just feels 1 million times better but I bet thats just age hahahaha...
