I really hate shitty Yankie formulated horror:
Psycho guy, usually in mask with chainsaw/machete killing all young girls bar one, who eventually beats him, only for him to return in eighteen sequels, and in each one he kills more and more people. :|

The Fog is definately one of the more creepy horror films, Salems Lot used to shit the life out of when i was a wee lad, also has anyone seen the Hills have eyes?

There is some right shite about now though. Saw that "Hide and Seek" with de niro a couple of months ago. What a load of crap

My older next door neighbour when i was a young girl let me watch Salems Lot with her and i was deeply deeply disturbed form many many years, i couldn't have a window at night not covered by curtains, i couldn't walk past parked cars at night and was petrified of graves!!!!! I was horrible!!!!

I managed to get over it by reading the book a couple of years ago and re watching the film and realising just how crap and unreal it is!!!! Now i'm fine with it.

Now that film is scary, there are some really tense jump out of your seat moments, also the film has a really dark feel to it:|

The only film that i've had to put the light back on (when i've been watching them on my own) was Exorcist 3.

I don't normally find horror movies scary at all, but something made me think "i'd rather watch this with the light on" that night :$

'The Changeling' is my favourite old skool horror. Proper spooky ghost story type.

'Session 9' is pretty good for a recent film. A low budget disturbing gem.

I agree with these mentioned so far:

Dawn of the Dead
Poltergiest
American Werewolf In London
Bad Taste
Brain Dead
The Fog
The Hills Have Eyes
Session 9

THE one that got me was Exorcist III

for THAT corridor scene, fuck me with a 10 foot pole - scariest moment EVER! :| :| :| :| :|

I watched it in daylight, and had to rewind the tape and watch that scene a few times (sick bastard that I am) lol its mad as hell.

The Thing gave me the fear again when I saw that last year, and of course who could forget Alien/Aliens :fekked:

One of my faves of all time as well is;

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (aka) Living Dead At Manchester Morgue - this is really dark in places and made me jump the most.

Some others..

Texas Chain Saw Massacre - love this as it's not what you see, its what your mind fills in as the violence is actually off camera, very very clever.

Love the remake of it as well, and also Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 - which is creepy/funny in parts, but has a few scenes - one with a guy getting his head battered with a hammer that goes on for too long, leaves you feeling really raw :| :S

There's loads of 'video nasties' that were once banned as well..

Driller Killer
Cannibal Ferox
Cannibal Holocaust
Tenebrae
Nekromantik <<< very very wrong and the 'Climax scene' is burnt into my brain now

Don't think there's a banned film I've not seen now, as I got hooked between 98 and 2002 and got them all :redneck:

Better shut up now, could go on all day :$

This was the only film which hearted me hard and normally Im the 1 who laughs very much when watching horror movies, but the Ring had all to be scared. Look at Samarra face and you'll know what I mean. Hard shit!!!!!
