that mark pickering and graham park hacienda 89 mix. I love mixes when you can hear the crowd. Makes it that extra bit special. PS:- something I have always wandered.... How do they record the decks and get the noise of the crowd at the same time. Sorry for being a spaz and not knowing the answer but any help would be appreciated

Amazing mix that, it was someone else on here that upped it originally, sorry forget who now :$ I just re-upped it as it's fucking ace and had to be shared :D

Nath, the way they usually record the crowd noise is to leave a microphone on with the fader open, so the two merge on the recording, or in some cases get recorded on a separate channel (depending how fancy the recording gear is)

It's fantastic quality for a set from '89, as it was broadcast on Radio, wonder if there was any more recorded, as it beats the usual crap quality sets off tapes that have faded and faded over the years :ghost:

Nathan...i totally agree with you as far as hearing the croud in the background.......i got a sacha at shellys mix and he drops mc buzz b - things will never change.....and when it gets to the piano break you hear the crowd goin nuts...air horns goin off peeps screaming...its magical the way it makes you feel  phones:

Oh to go back for jus one more time....would be the best gift in the world ever

Yeah i think same re crowd thing, many of the joy ones have it on esp the forthcoming Nipper mix from November @ Mission, man the crowd makes the cd awesome, on one part it really gives me goosebumps it really marks out the atmos!!!!! the reason you can hear it is down to a couple of things which are either the stylus tip or through a mic.....its happened both ways at joy's in the past.
Also some venues iv been in I.e Talltrees for example have a mic hung over the dancefloor for this very reason..

Hope that clears things up a little for you bud

This is one of my all-time favorite mixes. Mixing may not be brilliant but the general feeling you get when listening to it is amazing. I unfortunately was too young to attend the hacienda but this tape definitely gives me a small idea of what it might have been like. :D
