Hard To Find is a strange place. There seems to be a two tier system with the staff; the poor beggers on the desk with the head sets on, and then the gay mafia wandering round. The one Amelie has mentioned was bizarrely gay, but he wasn't the only one, there were loads of other blokes wandering round who wouldn't look out of place in a video such as "big, brum, and bent". I felt sorry for the other members of staff; the normal one's. As such I'll probably be kinder if I ever have cause to complain in the future, those poor bastard have got a shit job in the first place. As for decks; before I set off I had decided on a pair of Vestax PDX2300 Mk II Pro's, although I wasn't planing on getting them from Hard To Find I was going to get them from Sapphires (www.decks.co.uk), that said though Hard to Find were willing to price match Sapphires on the pair. However when I saw them in the flesh i wasn't majorly impressed, and Amelie was downright unimpressed. They looked plastic and cheap and had no weight to them. In the end I went for the Stanton ST 150, and now I've got them home I have to say I'm darned impressed with them (more impressed than my Technics believe it or not). Hard to Find actually beat Sapphires by £15 so I got them from there in the end as well. One gripe I did have about Hard to Find was that they made you leave any records you already have in lockers by the entrance. I'd been to the Music Exchange just down the road and picked up 20+ tunes (loads of good un's; Dilemma In Spirit on Energy, Morgan King I'm Free, Slam Mixes etc - all 50p each!). Anyway I left them in the locker and only remembered about them when I was on the M6! Which meant I had to go back into Birmingham, so after I got my records back I took the locker key home with me (just out of spite really).
