This is looking like it could cause some serious problems along the eastern seaboard of the US.

I was there for Hurricane Floyd in 1999. I was on one of the last planes to touch down at JFK and we just made it into Manhatten before they closed every bridge and tunnel into and out of it and stopped every ferry. Manhatten was isolated from the mainland for the first time ever. When the rains came hardest it was like standing under a warm shower and the streets quickly turned into rivers. It wasn't scary to be there though.

I'll bet it's shit scary if you're in the lowest areas that can be affected by the storm surges though.

I guess always the upshoot is seeing nature at it's most spectacular for us spectators looking on.

Up to 5ft of snow predicted over large areas further inland, wind felling trees onto powerlines potentially knocking out power to millions of homes and storm surges causing unknown damage :eek:
