my eyes were openned to HOUSE music by a few guys in Charlotte, NC, DJ FUZZ, DJ MEZMER. Travelling across the southeast n up into the northern states to c national talent with these guys as well as what the locals in these cities had to offer showed me what it took to keep working as a club nite DJ. i have a huge respect for ppl that keep themselves booked. Some of these locals included: Soulstice (Roanoke), DJ 7up (pittsburgh), DJ Godfather (DC/Baltimore), Smalls (DC Skills Champ-Wash DC), Stolz (Michigan). by this time i had totally lost my mind in the music. eventually i went to DEMF (detroit electronic music festival) BLEW MY FUCKIN TOP! over 2 million ppl at a free event over the course of 3 days. ridiculous music, ridiculous afterparties, its like Ultra, but WAAAAAY better, FREE, and ONLY FOR THE 4-4! my view of the music was drastically changed when witnessing these old skoolers completely take a dancefloor packt with ppl and make mashed potatoes out of it. being one of those kids on a regular basis made me want to learn more about where the HOUSE sound came from & y it makes our hearts and souls ache when we hear it. for the last 6 yrs i have been on a neverending field trip taking in everything i can when it comes to HOUSE and early progressive. right now, i am a junior in college, studying Media Arts at the University of South Carolina. i also continue to study the art of mixing. i have been playing for 4 yrs heavily, with one first place contest under my belt. i rep Capsule Recordings (dj mezmer.com HOUSE MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG) and Stillill Entertainment (www.illintent.com). i love playing records, i love being a part of the dance scene and so far i love old skool anthemz! always rememba the *music*
