The guys we met after space from boston, said the scenes larger in the states at the moment rather than ibiza, he said dont get me wrong ibiza's good but the miami music conference is unbelievable, he goes every year and said thats the place to be without a doubt and he travels all over.

Been clubbing all over and theres allsorts of good places to go. Vegas aint to shabby on the clubs or the music either, only problem I had was getting hold of the necessary Party Items to help me dance the nite away. I meself wasnt keen on Aiya Napa and preferred Ibeefa although thats defo not it used to be eother, never been to Miami so that might just be somewhere else to put on the list of places to go ;)

I didn't like Miami that much the last couple of times.. greedy clubs/people syndrome again  -on the surface its much more about money and who knows who and all that shite.. but if you can get to some of the underground / small parties you will have a ball :D You just have to search a little harder for the good parties, go through the listings in detail like we did last time and you'll have some real magic moments, mainly parties run by smaller west coast labels and younger enthusiastic talent eg: Dex in the city run by Takeout Records (deep house label from NYC), 3degrees Global, Farina, Diz, Om, Siesta Records, Luke Crowley etc etc

The Benicàssim festival (South East coast Spain) is meant to be ace -Sonar's great if you like the big arena thing

I thought Miami in 2004 was ace how ever mates said this year was pretty much what Gemma said above - maybe because it was Spring Break as well? agree on finding out about other nights beforehand. Alway worths checking out the master list in advance.

One night some peeps who we went with headed off to Carl Cox whilst I went and checked out Sneak, Heather, East Coast Boogiemen Ken, Greenskeepers Live, Miles Maeda, Brett Johnson and many more which was $15 or something equally as cheap. Musically it was on fire and held at Bash which is a quality venue inside and out - we then headed off to the cafeteria which was some cafe towards/past Nikki beach that was pitch black inside and the only time light appeared was when the curtain covering the door was opened to let some one in where it blinded you - crazy experience - Steve Lawler was playing and normally don't rate him musically, how ever for that time of the morning/day he played some real nice down tempo stuff and rolled it out. $15 well spent.

I didn't rate Sonar this year - after managing to get two Sonar Pro passes when we got there after hearing the some of the by night events had sold out, I wish I had spent the money checking out the smaller nights happening in Barcelona - namely Idjut Boys and Steve Kotey all for about 5 Euro instead of hearing some euro chin stroking electronica - don't get me wrong I did hear loads of people I hadn't heard before which I enjoyed and then the more obvious stuff like Luke Vibert, De La Soul, Yoda, Richie Hawtin, The Durritti Column, Jeff Mills, Roisin Murphy, 20:20 sound system so it wasn't all bad - maybe I just hit on the wrong events. Just overall on leaving I didn't rate it as much as everyone had the year before.

I guess at the end of the day it's what you make it. :king:

You up for Miami next year Nog?

:D - I was going to name check and list all the peeps I had heard out for the first time which did hit the spot for me - then didn't - must have left him in there.

Did you go this year? what did you think?

:D

No, not this year. 2004 was the last time I went

can anyone who's been to the miami one tell me what to expect?

been offered flights & accom for £500 to the one in march which sounds good to me, just there's a few comments in this thread making me think twice.

cheers
