Prime Minister John Howard - Australia said:
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture.. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.'

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,

'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'

'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

Jeez louise, thit's some quoite brith-toiking hypocrisy there from the old aussies Bruce...

And there's is a nation with such a wonderful record of racial tolerance too...

Absolutely disgraceful.

Do the world a favour... Round up all his lot along with Terre Blanche & all his cronies and dump the lot of them all on the same desert island.

EDIT Oh, and way to go for not antagonising any potential terrorists whatsoever with that little speech ya hoffwit... :axe:

They'd be happy - at least there'd be no blicks there.

As for the speech... admitedly Oz hasn't got a good history when it comes to race relations (cue Midnight Oil) but at least here's a nation that isn't afraid to say enough is enough... :)

"enough is enough"?
Enough of what exactly?
What right does he, or anyone else for that matter, have to judge such things?

And does he also speak for the veritable army of Aussies who have rocked up on these shores over the last however many years? People here complain about Asian immigrants occupying whole areas of towns & cities... I wonder if Mister Prime Minister John Howard has been to Hammersmith lately? I'm sure he has and he just forgot to mention it... And anyway, I'm sure all the Aussies are more than happy to adopt and assimilate seamlessly into the British culture and lifestyle... Like fuck...

Oh, and while we're on, let's not forget this is the country who for the last 50 years have been pleading for people to emigrate to Oz... The "10 pound poms" et al...
So what they're really saying is, they need & want immigrants, but only certain nationalities (in other words, no blicks).

Sickening.
Going back to the desert island scenario... Let's pick one that's as radioactive as fuck from all the bomb tests in the 50s

agreed mate. this isnt a case of choosing people by colour of skin, its more that theres some who dont want to adapt to their culture in any way and without me researching the morals of a civilized country's PM, he's come out with that because its a serious issue over there.

I've always admired England being a melting pot of ideas & cultures... but it only works when there's mutual respect, equitability & harmony...

"Enough is enough" to me means enough of treading on eggshells & pussy-footing around to appease an extremist section of a religion that's throwing it's toys around..

/Daily Mail mode off :)

It's political correctness gone mad! ;)

Seriously though... I agree with you partly... I just think "mutual respect, equitability & harmony" are more likely to happen with a bit of understanding and tolerance than with speeches like your boy's made there...

They are asking others to be respectful of their culture, yet are completely disrespectful towards other cultures themselves...

"Serious issue" in that they are more than happy to oppress other races and minority cultures by whatever means they deem necessary (including violence and use of force), then pretend they are the rightful indigenous population of the territory they occupy, and try to dictate who can & can't emigrate there.

That's a serious issue alright. A serious issue of hypocrisy, bigotry & double standards.

Not getting into whether the email is right or wrong but it's worth pointing out that John Howard hasn't been PM in Australia since he was voted out in 2007, and that email is actually just misleading and inaccurate:

Prime Minister Howard - Muslims Out Of Australia

If you are having to lie to get your point across then it definitely dilutes your message somewhat IMO.

Well, I kind of agree with where he's coming from with regard to the "fit in or fuck off" idea, but I also agree it is ever so slightly hypocritical.

As far as I'm aware, the abbo's were there first, and the whitey's didn't exactly try to fit in with their ways of life! They did say sorry a while back, so I guess that made everything ok.

Rule Number 1... research your cut & pastes before attributing spurious quotes to people :$

Fair nuff - I didn't... however I think inference of 'lying' is implying deliberate falsification :)

I wasn't implying that you were lying but on the part of the originator of the email I'd say there was definite deliberate falsification, not just implied, since much of the text actually came from "Barry Loudermilk", "a US Air Force veteran and columnist for a local newspaper in the American state of Georgia" and Bazzer was actually talking about post 9/11 America not Australia - the daft racist.
