I've been doing loadsa sad touristy stuff it's great! hehe :D

Had me piccie took holding a koala, went on a day trip with some off road driving and a tour of an island we stayed on. Fed dolphins (fair enough they were wild ones but was in a queue with about 100 people and I got to feed em 3 fish :D ), and went snorkelling for the first time in deep water with about 30 people (mainly Japanese tourists who seemed to think it was quite alright to make a congaesque line with one another and cause everyone to smack into them and generally get in everyones way! ).

Holding the koala was lovely (apart from getting it plonked in your arms for all of three seconds and not being able to run off with it and give it a proper cuddle! :) ). The day trip was actually quite good, went on a bit of a drive, stopped off for a swim in a lake then carried on driving for a bit. Showed us a bit of bush tucker (a horsefly, good eatin apparently as they taste like honey , no ta :| ) glad he also had some steaks with him :D. I love dolphins so was brill to get in the water with them, same prob again though, I was dying to touch them and you can't :( , tight buggers, gonna take a bucket of smelly dead fish and find some to feed on me own hehe :) .

The snorkelling....well I have to say I am very proud of myself. I'm not a strong swimmer and have tried it once before but only where I know I can stand up, but this time overcame my fear and decided to go on an organised trip because they gave you a wet suit (which makes you float and I had no idea that they did that!) and a boogie board to hold onto, which was fab for me as there was then no doubt at all that I would drown! :). We snorkelled round some shipwrecks and fed the fish and I took an underwater camera and took hopefully some good piccies. Will definitely do that again on my own now I know I can will just get a boogie board or a float belt to help me and avoid tourists!. Although the one other fear that did run through my mind was "Well if the sharks come I stand a fair chance of being alright with this many people around me" :D. I say that jokingly but a few weeks ago a girl was attacked by sharks and died, and on the island we camped on, which did scare the hell outa me as I'd put it out of my mind about the sharks but apparently it was a lot to do with the circumstances that day and it's supposed to be the first fatality in 44 years. Most people say that you're more likely to get run over etc but I'd rather not get up close and personal with one!

It's Australia day tomorrow (well today!) and I'm off to the pub to race cockroaches!!!!! :D

Hiya :) ,

Yep loving it!

Watched a couple of the cockroach races but couldn't stay outside for too long was way too hot. They had a proper set up for it! didn't expect that! even had large screens round the place :D. Was a really good day, around 5000 people there, atmosphere was great and made some new friends too, off out with them tonight and might be going to the Whitsundays with em
