I went once years and years ago (probably 15 years plus - fuck that makes me feel old). I got a load of decent records from a weird shop within some courtyard affair - like a large old grand Georgian building which had been converted to separate shops. I seem to recall it was at the bottom of a hill - possibly across from a Morrisons.

This is starting to sound like a fucking treasure hunt with riddles for clues!

I doubt if most of the places i used to shop in yorskhire are still there tbh. Used to be deadwax in hudds in the byram arcade which im guessings gone. There was a place that i used to go to that jonnos post has reminded me of. It was a converted mill that was separated into small shops. the guy had old record players on shelves all around but actually stocked some good promos and other stuff on vinyl. Could be hebden bridge its in but my geographys not the best. Ed

Kiss me brown eye
Ya can nip to the next town Knaresbourgh, a 15 minute drive, to the best deli in Yorkshire, The Farm Dairy, sample a coffee to die for and sample some of the toothsome goodies on fresh daily bread....

I know i would!

There aint none in `Arrogit anymore. Union trax was the last to go.
None in York either. Depth charge perished years ago.
No Dead Wax in Huddersfield anymore :( that was ace as was forth wave and fulcrum but thats going back years. I think Wall of sound has since moved there from Waliwax.
The best places are random second hand / charity shops in leeds but it means parking and going in so best drive round places like Headingly (Oxfam books and records used to be good).
Not sure whats happening in Bradford. Discovery always had some gems worth rummiging for but havent been there for ages. there's always the Disc who have rare stuff but know thier prices. Ask Gilly to let you have a peek in the back office ;)
There is a place in Bagley that closes early that you have to lift stuff out of the way like bikes and milk churns to get to the battered old vinyl.
All in all, the best places closed down years ago.

ps, If your coming to see us this weekend I have an amazing stock of Old Skool for sale that beats anywhere in Yorkshire ;)
