Anyone got any ideas on why I can try next.

Running a peer to peer, Host with XP home and other with XP Pro, this couldnt previously be done untill SP2 came out as Pro had to be the host, but that doesnt matter lol

Got Zone Alarm on the host, It will not let the other PC connect to the internet at all.

Ive gone in the Zone Settings and set the public IP address i.e 192.168.0.170 to both trusted and internet but it still blocks the connection.

Ive put ZA on medium setting and still blocked, ive set allow outgoing DNS/DHCP in both trusted zones and internet zones.

I cant seem to get Zone Alarm to let one PC connect through the other, switch it off on the host, Internet no problem, but no matter what I do to allow the other to connect through the firewall its not having it.

Previously when using it all i needed to do was allow a specific IP range ie 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.256 and that way if I needed to repair the connection and was allocated a different IP addy then it would be fine, but its not letting anything through

Anyone got any ideas ?

nope mate all set fine through windows firewall, thought that maybe the case cause if it works when WFW is off and ZA off but doesnt when WFW off and ZA on then its got to be ZA thats not allowing the share.

But when allowing the ip addresses ZA seems to still be blocking my connection.

Far as I know ZA doesn't work on a network -you need ZA Pro.

previously set one up with it mate and all the settings are the same.

Im comming to the conclusion that its cause Homes the host and XP connects to it, throw them the other way round and bobs yer unc fanny yer aunt.

Stupid windows kack.

No point me buying a router im not here long enough.

Cheers anyways folks :)
