LOL!

To be fair, a few on the programme really did want to make a change and improve themselves. One lass in particular, had a real natural ability with food and bags of enthusiasm. . . but then had money issues.

Was she "common", yes.
Was she poor, yes.
Did she care about her daughter, yes.
Did she want to improve their life, yes.

In the right environment, a few quid and some encouragement, she could do much better for herself.

There was a nice old bloke on the show who simply had never cooked because his wife had done it.

Ooh Chris you big snob!!! :p

Movin' on up.
I was dragged up in one of Boltons worst shiteholes, and these characters made me blanch.....

LOL.

Thanks for the back up mate.

I don't hold anyone's background against them only their attitude and behaviour.

Some of my best friends are common as muck and they will be the first to tell you as much!:p ;)

caught a some of it before bedtime last night, wanted to watch the rest but felt too rough to stay up, so missed the later bits but saw the bits about the mum who feeds her kids loads of kebabs  and the woman who says she eats 10 bags of crisps and a large bar of galaxy every night :S

I think that what he's trying to do is brilliant. Anything you can do to improve peoples lives and give them something to feel good about..

I do think that fresh fruit & veg is expensive.. granted, like radish said, not if you're going to buy a bundle of crisps & chocolate instead, but the cost of making say a decent salad over a 49p packet of supernoodles for dinner is painful...this was a constant annoyance at uni..on top of the fact that fresh stuff goes off so quickly so if you don't eat it in time you've wasted your money..it is much harder on a budget and you can't buy nice fruit like any types of berry.

The only thing I can think of thats really cheap is carrots! I guess it depends where you shop though.

Try Vegetables with, yorkshire puddings and gravy.
