Is Italian shit??!!!! Oldskooldazed has it about right....it's all down to the ages of the people listening to the tunes and the punters dancing to them. My clubbing days started in '91 and I started DJ'ing in '93, so I've seen musical fads/trends/genres (whatever you want to call 'em) come and go. My personal tastes went from Italian piano like Pierre Feroldi, Last Rhythm, XL Rhythm, etc, etc through JK, TFO, Hysteria, JT Company, etc, etc and then moved on to "Sasha" & Digweed style stuff like Blue Amazon, Yum Yum, Tenth Chapter (sorry...two on the same label there!!) I had a brief flirt with loads of stuff on TYT, Code, and loads of trance labels, but then moved on to what we now hear as "commercial" dance music. In '94 to '95 when I played at the Venue in Spennymoor, what we played was called (by outsiders) "That fookin bangin' rave shite", but it wasn't actually as hard as many of the tunes that we now see in the charts. I remember playing Scooter in '95 and thinking "F#*K ME!!! That's mental"......now look at us....Scooter are an every day Top Of The Pops band!!!!!!!! Anyway....I'm rambling.....off the subject a bit I know, but my general message is: Music HAS to change to fit in with current tastes and trends. If it doesn't, the industry dies!!! We all love certain tunes, as they remind us of days past and bring back emotions which we enjoy. I'll never forget the first time I heard many, many of my tunes and whenever I hear them, I get the same feeling....I'm just a bit older!!!!! Music..........dontcha just LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!:D
