After getting yourself in the right frame of mind you start a mix. Everything starts off fine then the Inter Citys come hurtlin along at 125mph and smash into each other! LOL always happens to me at about 40 minutes in to piss me off even more. Its not even like the good old days when you could rewind the tape and start again these fuckin audio cds are costin a fortune!

Is it just me:confused: ?

Buy re-recordable cd's, then if it doesn't work out you can just restart the mix:thumbsup:

My main problem is actually starting a mix in the first place :| and then if I do find the motivation and start enjoying myself and get a good flow going, realising that I hadn't bothered recording it:cry:

The last mix I recorded was way back in december lol :)

How do you burn to pc?

im guessin u need a link from the output on ya mixer 2 your pc usb, but what software do u use?

Get yourself a Minidisk Recorder! Dead cheap on the 'Bay, CD quality but re-recordable. I've got two - one full size upstairs where my decks are, and a portable one plugged into the PC downstairs so I can upload it. Easy to burn CD's from there, plus you can up your mix to the forum so we can all have a listen

Best thing about MD's is that you can re-use them, and you can't scratch them - brilliant for in the car, where my CD's always seem to get knackered (mainly cos I just chuck them in the glove box without the case...)

While we're on the subject of recording mixes, though - anyone here use 'Audacity'? How can you 'track mark' your mix so it isn't just one big 74 minute track, without leaving any gaps in the mix? I've been told it's possible, but I can't do it and it's been driving me nuts

How about just having more practice before u start recording sets then u wont make stupid mistakes...its all about knowing your tunes, well thats what i find anyhow..

I use DAT (mostly @ JOY) and also at home i use DAT, MD and Sound Forge depending how i feel, been a while since i did a studio mix tho, most of mine are from events iv done....
