......my old Sony MDR V700's have suffered the terminal crack of death through the hinged plastic. They are about 12 years old being one of the first batch to hit UK shores and have served me very well however time to stop mourning and move on.

What would people recommend, I prefer the full coverage cup and need full jack sized plug. Something hard wearing and will spend the money if required. As you can tell, I try and buy well and make it last.

I have some KRK KNS 8400 Headphones, pukka and relatively cheap for studio monitor quality, does't flatter your ears or exite the bass, what you hear is what is there...plus they give you about 30db's worth of silence/noise drop just by wearing them.
