Great night... straight off plane and taxi into town, quick chinwag with K&T and into into the far room to catch Pluto and Dreamgirl back to back. Needless to say, the Hazy crew were the first on the dancefloor... then others followed.

Good hit HazyCrew... a great demonstration of how to tackle old school classics: right on the chin, in the middle of the dancefloor, rather than stand about like One o Lewis'.

Mission: Excellent venue, areas to chill, clear sound system and pleasant enough staff (there were plenty in there) - though it wasn't rammed as it was early in the night. By all accounts it filled after the pubs shut doors.

Mister DJ Mart was in the middle room sandwiched between funky house and Pluto n Dreamgirl... think I only caught part of Richie Rich Salsa House as I was cutting shapes to the back 2 back sesh.

Had to nip off with the Scouse connection at 1ish as we'd all come straight from hectic weeks at work and in dire need of getting back safely before sleep dep kicked in. Offers of crashing in Leeds were tempting (thanks to those that offered options for the weekend) but it was a no go this time round. As a result, didn't get to see Vert or Sy play.

Great to see Hazy regulars making the cross country trip to give support to another old school night. That's what its all about. Its rare to have clubs playing this stuff and the support is much needed. Nights like this rarely make massive amounts of dough. More a bit of a running float - plus the kudos of putting the night together of course. Shouts to JoJo, Paul, Woody, SJ, PW, Sunshine and her crew, plus a couple of others who's faces I know from Hazy, but haven't been introduced. Good to see Kate Blue Monday and Wakey Neil from Hazy PR again - recovered well from your trip to Dam I see ;o)

That was my first visit to HazyJoy, no doubt I'll be there again.

Good work fellas - the night provides for everyone's tastes: classic underground, piano classics, and up front funky house if you fancy it.

BrixTim

(and for those of you into unisex toilets, you're in for a treat)

PS: thanks to Dreamgirl and DodgyScouser for hospitality and general taxi service over the weekend. Yer a pair of diamonds, stars etc :thumbs up:

Had a mad weekend and Joy was the perfect way to kick it off.

Having driven 200 odd miles up the M1 and having a mighty mission finding mission - tho what are the odds on bumping into an also as lost as me grover and shaz on the way back to rescue my car that I'd parked about twenty miles away from the club - I was pretty knackered so I'm quite glad not many people got to witness my dreadful attempts on the joydecks :$ - plus Dreamgirl and Mick were cooking up a mighty storm in the main room whilst I was on. Absolutely quality set, great to hear some later stuff being played like Helicopter and Mother and glad I got to grab the last half hour of it...  phones: phones:

The drive home along the M62 was mega scarey - probably the thickest fog ever :ghost: and then I was back in Leeds the next day for a mates stag do and down to the St Ledger (where I lost big stylee :$ :$ ) and the back to Leeds for the evening (where I lost IT big stylee :p :p lol!)...then once more down the M1 :fekked: :naughty:

Thanks to Kells & Tots and the Joy crew for getting us on and wicked as always to see the Hazy and OSA crews out  and thank you so much for everyone who made the trip over

What a cracking night I had at Joy.

We started off by leaving a little late from Scouseland but some deft driving and GPS helped us get to the club on time. Have to say I think Mission is a really cool club although it did take me a while to adjust to the spinning lights in the entrance... I was walking like I was in the house that jack built ;)

As Mart was on the same tim as myself and Mick, I didnt get to hear any of his set, which was a shame. The room myself and Mick where on was cool. It looked like a pit and I was buzing to see so many hazy faces out on the dance floor gving it their best. Biggest shout goes to my sister JoJo .... who took it upon herself to show what a dncefloor is there for and lost it to Petra - Just Let Go when Mick played it. I was quite concerned for her welfare  until someone pointed out she had had 2 bottles of bud :|

My tune of the night was played by Mick... THAT B SIDE on THAT NJOY label ;) .... I made sure it went back in a cover ;)

Thankyou so much to everyone who turned up and bought the hazy vibe to Leeds... it was class to see that many people turn up.

Big thankyou to Ste, Shaz, JoJo, Paul, Pink Tim, Sunshine, SJ, Woody, Wakey Kate and Neil and all the other people that came.

I had to leave at 1 before I feel alseep at the wheel.... so I only heard a bit of the lovely Vertigos set... well I use the term lovely sparingly as he made it rather hard for me to get my tunes out of the dj box  ;)

Finally a big thankyou to Kells and Tots for hosting the Hazy night there... It was really lovely to meet you and thankyou for having us on :)

had a mental friday nite! was planning on staying in but was blagged last minute to go by antz and after a quick 3 S's, and a turbo charged blast up the 62 by lou lou Mcrae, we arrived in leeds about 20 past 11, we finally found somewhere to park after 18hundred and 12 laps of the ring road lol  and got in there about midnight, just missing mick/annie and marts sets :(
room 1s tunes i was surprised to quite enjoy, quite soulful and chilled the type of tunes u'd play to ya bird (if ya that soppy of course! which i'm not btw!)
the middle room dale the disc was playing e lustrious type tunes with a smattering of piano! well wicked stuff, i much prefered that too the dubby prog stuff vertigo was playing, so wandered between the 2 rooms for bit slowly gettin ratted :pixie: barman in the middle room was wicked, squeezed proper limes into me vodka lime n soda n allsorts  almost as good as me and quey in our heyday

then DJ Sy appeared with some sexy ass bint :luv: , and played his usual ubeat hardedged stuff, tearing it up like a mofo and by the end of that the dancefloor was jammed. Up next were Kells N Tots starting with Jazz n Bros.Grimm - Casanova hellraising mix or wotever its called, wicked tune to start the set! (too hard to mix that fooker lol) followed by plenty more vocal / pianoey stuff  had to go shortly after that, but accompaied by PW and Lozzie ended up gettin really trolleyed back at ours and subsequenly oversleeping in a major way for GT and dannys doo :$ :(

cheers for everyone who was out, even u scouse gits:p tis always a pleasure
