Copied to Reviews section Original post was in the other area, so copied to here and edited. Great night... straight off plane and taxi into town, quick chinwag with K&T and into into the far room to catch Pluto and Dreamgirl back to back. Needless to say, the Hazy crew were the first on the dancefloor... then others followed. Good hit HazyCrew... a great demonstration of how to tackle old school classics: right on the chin, in the middle of the dancefloor, rather than stand about like One o Lewis'. Mission: Excellent venue, areas to chill, clear sound system and pleasant enough staff (there were plenty in there) - though it wasn't rammed as it was early in the night. By all accounts it filled after the pubs shut doors. Mister DJ Mart was in the middle room sandwiched between funky house and Pluto n Dreamgirl... think I only caught part of Richie Rich Salsa House as I was cutting shapes to the back 2 back sesh. Had to nip off with the Scouse connection at 1ish as we'd all come straight from hectic weeks at work and in dire need of getting back safely before sleep dep kicked in. Offers of crashing in Leeds were tempting (thanks to those that offered options for the weekend) but it was a no go this time round. As a result, didn't get to see Vert or Sy play. Great to see Hazy regulars making the cross country trip to give support to another old school night. That's what its all about. Its rare to have clubs playing this stuff and the support is much needed. Nights like this rarely make massive amounts of dough. More a bit of a running float - plus the kudos of putting the night together of course. Shouts to JoJo, Paul, Woody, SJ, PW, Sunshine and her crew, plus a couple of others who's faces I know from Hazy, but haven't been introduced. Good to see Kate Blue Monday and Wakey Neil from Hazy PR again - recovered well from your trip to Dam I see ;o) That was my first visit to HazyJoy, no doubt I'll be there again. Good work fellas - the night provides for everyone's tastes: classic underground, piano classics, and up front funky house if you fancy it. BrixTim (and for those of you into unisex toilets, you're in for a treat) PS: thanks to Dreamgirl and DodgyScouser for hospitality and general taxi service over the weekend. Yer a pair of diamonds, stars etc :thumbs up:
