Now don't get excited this isn't gonna be rude! :D

It's about houses :). Feel very lucky to be stayin where I am at present and thought this place was top (still do I must add!) , then the other week went to a get together at a neighbours house and was gobsmacked at their place, absolutely massive, biggest and best house I'd ever been in, kinda like two houses on top of one another, huge rooms beautiful floors, several large decked areas for entertaining outside and fab views.

Then soon after that went to another house, was even grander than the latter with a humungous pool huge gardens, massive decked areas and deer comin to the bottom of the garden , outa this world. Then last night oh my god!!!!! met a couple (parents of my neice's friend) went round for dinner. They've designed and built it never seen anything (apart from on grand designs!) like it. Was in awe at the place, friggin amazin, even had a built in electric dust pan in the kitchen, you just sweep up press a button (or the maid does more like!!!!!!) and it sucks it all in. Keep meetin people at the minute that have tonnes of money and have the most impressive lifestyles not one of em is introducin me to any single male friends of theirs though god damnit!!!!!! :D . Although meetin the right contacts for other aspects, the lady I met last night is a teacher (been thinkin for some time that teaching is what I will end up doing) and she's gonna hopefully get me a job at her school as a teachers aid to give me a taster to see if I like it so that's fab and her hubby knows some cricket players :eyebrow: so I have a feeling I may be visting them often :D

Then today went on a lunch appointment with my sister to meet with a lady who wants to donate one of her properties to the charity my sis works for. I was so impressed by her. She and her husband became multi millionaires through property development, then they divorced, she didn't get a penny. So she went and did it all again herself and wants to give one away, what a woman!!!!!!!!.

As for me though I'll just keep on daydreaming that one day Lloyd Grossman will be saying "And who lives in a house like this?" and I'll be going "Me me me I do it's mine!!!!!!! lol"

Glad you're enjoying yourself diane, it sounds amazing and good luck with the teaching.
I know what you mean about the fab houses tho. I went to stay with me uncle in Turkey last year in this massive mansion with pool, tennis courts, maid etc. It was all marble and like something of Cribs..I really didn't want to come home:(
Keep us posted,

Sounds like a really good life out there and it's always good to have friends in a foreign land:)

I was seriously thinking about becoming a teacher a while back too and used to speak regularly about it with a couple of teachers on another forum that I use, but i've lost interest at the moment, partly through the lack of discipline in some schools and the liability culture that is spreading like a virus:|

It's funny though, because everybody tells me that i'm really good with kids and I thought i'd be able to reach them on their level and yet the idea of one troublemaker in the bunch wrecking my career puts me off from even trying.

Sounds like youre having an amazing time Diane :D

So are you over there for good then?

Hiya sweet :) , yep I'm enjoying it. I dunno yet, everyone I meet it's one of the first questions they ask me as they assume that anyone would want to stay here for good, which is totally understandable as it has such a lot of great things going for the place. It's only been a month yet (there's the most amazing storm just started as I'm typing this love watching them they are fab, really loud and really light up the sky :) ). I suppose it's going to depend on a few factors, how much I end up missing family and friends and how my life here develops people I meet job etc. As for the place itself I love waking up each day knowing the weather is going to be good, the people as so friendly it's untrue I've only met a couple of misery guts everyone else everywhere you go is lovely (well up to now anyway :D ), so keeping an open mind and time will tell as the old adage goes :)

Hiya Jiglo :) ,

I think it is a good life out here. They seem to have a better sense of community. There's a place called Southbank in the city and this xmas they had a big cinema screen up outside showing 3 films a night for free, so people take their picnics roll out a blanket and set theirselves up there for the night. They also had free shows on for the kids, and boats all lit up going up n down the river with xmas carols and fireworks, again all free. I think it's a great thing to do, there's tonnes to do here without cost, especially because of the weather that does play a major part I suppose. Yeah it is, if you do decide to come over I'll be yer friend ;) .

I think that anything that keeps coming back to you like that means that it's telling you you should take notice and do it, that's just my opinion though.

I know what you're saying about the odd rogue kid but don't let that put you off. I'm good with kids too that's one of my reasons for thinking about teaching, I've always wanted a job that made a difference to someone's life. I've often thought about councelling or social work but know I couldn't deal with the emontional side It'd just seap into me and I'd take too much on board I'm not cut out for it at least I don't think so. I know I couldn't handle teenagers nooooo way! :D so I'll be opting for primary school definitely a safer option at least they're still pretty cute and nice at that age. Will see how I go though, right now I feel that is going to be the way I should go but will do some enquiring and a bit of voluntary work first and then see how I feel. The thought of all those holidays is a major appealing factor ! :D

Well I haven't totally ruled it out, but it would be a big commitment for me to give up my current job and then study for it combined with brushing up on my spelling.

Also (at least this applies over here), i'm told that the teachers holidays aren't quite as long as those that the kids enjoy, due to extensive paperwork and further studying, although they're still far better than what I currently get.

I wish you the very best of luck if you do decide to go through with it.:)

Knew what you meant , the wink was meant to imply that, obviously didn't work :D

Yes understand what you mean, I have nothing to give up so nothing to lose otherwise it probably wouldn't be an option. Errr as for spelling mine obviously goes to pot when I've been drinking!, and when I'm sober so I'm buggered  :D

Yeah there is a fair amount of work to be done out of hours but at least it can be done in bed, in the garden wherever :) , and you do get a lot of time off which is a major appeal, six weeks in the summer, off for a week every six weeks and all public holidays.

Thanks and same to you :)
