Hi all,

I have been utterly pi55ed off with all the coverage that the X Factor has been given recently

Me too  up to 8 hrs of each weekend of it. And the guests :naughty: Blobby Williams, Take Twat, Whitney from Houston, Michael George, Elton Thomas all plugging their shit music, and thier best of albums showing up in the commercials, and the Paul McCartney wtf  even the judges are singing thier latest releases on the show :|
They just want your money

I'm surprised at how some of what I consider to be proper 'artists', and I include, McCartney, Elton John and George Michael in there are fawning all over this stuff. Alright, those 3 haven't been producing for years, but they know what it is to write thier own stuf and crack America and fight record companies

It really is karaoke, there's almost zero originality from all the contestants. I mean you look back at what we thought was 'pop' in the 80's at least they weirded your parents out and wrote their own stuff (Boy George, Wham) or played their own instruments (Spandau and Duran Duran). They had proper talent, even if you hated them.

This lot are manufactured BEFORE they get more manufactured. It's killing the quality of pop. No wonder companies aren't selling enough records. It's because all the excitement is being sucked out of music in the mainstream.

Movin' on up.
and then there's Louis Walsh - He likes the boys doesnt he? The Po-leece need to divert their attention away from Sir Cliff and investigate Walsh :cops:

Very Funny.

I just think that buying Rage Against The Machine as a protest, shows you give a FCUK about the X-factor and I don't.

What a dilemma. :S

im sure miss tickles put summat on facebook about them both being under sony im sure she will post here;)

Oh ok Nicky, you pulled my leg:p ha

Before I rant, can I just say, Killing in the name of is one of my all time fave tunes...Great memories of moshing out at the Ritz and Rockworld to Rage Against the Machine....

When I first heard about the campaign, I thought it would be hilarious if Rage Against the Machine got to No.1, but then I learned that Rage Against the Machine are signed to Sony. Now Simon Cowell's production company Syco are signed to Sony and are responsible for 70% of Sony's profit. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but with this figure, I'm assuming that he will have a large amount of shares in Sony??!

So if this is the case, then all this campaign is doing is lining his pockets more and making the public look even more ridiculous than we already do most of the time. The same amount of people will still be buying the XFactor song, so all the rest of us are doing are helping Simon and the fat cats at Sony buy another house in L.A! It's the most ridiculous protest ever! the idea was good, but the people who came up with it really should have done their homework 1st....

Buy a song where the proceeds go to charity if you wanna make a change ;)

I've no idea if that is true, but I'd be very surprised if any Rage Against The Machine sales would put money in Mr Cowell's pockets.

Even if that was the case, I don't think it's a protest about where the money is going, I think (at least as far as I'm concerned) that it's more about manufacturing a guaranteed Christmas number one. What's the point in anyone else releasing a single this week if the winner has already been chosen?

People aren't going to buy the X-Factor winner's single because it's good. They're going to buy it because they're complete morons who've had it rammed down their throats for the last fuck knows how many weeks.

I can't remember the last time I really cared about the Christmas number 1, but I suspect it was long long ago when pop music mattered to me;)

I think Killing In The Name Of is a great track and the album it came from is one of those revered by producers and engineers worldwide as a benchmark album for technical quality, but it isn't very Christmasy and I wont be buying it as a protest:p

He'll probably reel in more money than the band themselves!

I know what your saying, but don't you think it would have been more of a kick in the tooth if the makers of XFactor weren't profiting off everyone who's so called anti-XFactor...it just makes a mockery out of the whole thing! The reason why the XFactor song gets to No.1 is because it's marketed better than any other song in the running and that's because Cowell and Sony have the money and the means to do it...giving them more money will only encourage them more don't you think? It would have been far more productive for someone to have come up with an independent tune or a tune where the proceeds are all going to charity, like that Soldiers song!
