Blue Jammer, I do scoff at the nanny state we are in and continue to make for ourselves. Its a dangerous route to be going down.

Im sick of 'banning' sensorship, PC types telling us what we can and cant say or do, government stating how to live our lives, the fact is, it doesnt matter how much we become watched, how much we are not supposed to do, restrictions and papers for this that and the other, it wont do jack. I could still get a knife and baseball bat out the drawer and stab/bludgoen my neighbours to death.
Its never going to make the world safer habing all this nanny stuff, just more restrictive and 'rat cage' or drone like. Fodder for future society, plain and simple. And more over, we become even MORE of a mockery and something to be taken advantage of by other nations too.

Poeple just need common sense, parents who are pretty much clued up, and some good old fashioned trust and decency. Will sticking a screwdriver in a three pin socket electricute somebody? Yes, shall we therefore ban screwdrivers and three pin sockets. Holy cow batman.

... "I had a dream....that one day..." "...one day we'll all be free" etc

Pipe dreams, for it is only going to get worse.

I remember reading a while back they were even thinking of trying to enforce fees for sending an e-mail, an e-stamp for fucks sake, nothing more was ever said about that though, like NTL's broadband cap, they soon backed off with that, when they realised people would downgrade/go elsewhere if they tried to enforce it.

I bet you don't like the BBFC much either :p

Lol. Why is it going to get worse? WE are (allegedly) in charge of this country (dont laugh to hard, you may burst something).....lol. Is it me, or is it just spiralling into a PC correct nanny state at the hands of some mysterious force we dont know about?. Who are these poeple? where can we find them (and shoot them/remove them)? hahaha.

Its only getting worse becuase of the bleet bleeting and following of sheep we are all being turned into. We should be the masters of our own destiny, who is it that rules all this stuff on our behalf - stuff we didnt even vote for or know what was happening, bills flying through parlaiment low key so nobody knows about them?. lol. It is happening right now.

E Tax, lol. I like it. What next. I can believe it, I bet it happens one day.

The film classification is good, purely becuase I can then know a film under 15 rating is not to be watched! lol. I want some strong language, sex and violence thankyou! hahah

I know Im a lone voice out in the wilderness, but things are getting scary. Did you know the BBC (not bbfc) are 'selective' reporting and sensoring the news they cover to bias it to the 'agenda' whatever it may be? Its true. You think Im bullshitting, but Im not.

Put it this way; I could easily fit an extra toe between my big toe and next one. Don't know if I had an extra one there that removed when I was little and nobody's told me about!

Always been the same aint it fella.... was reading recently accounts of the 'Battle of the Beanfield' (back in 85 when 'The Peace Convoy' as they were known back then were being hounded from county to county by the OB & the Govt).

The travellers tried to get to Stonehenge for the summer solstice but due to blockades etc actually ended up in a farmers field in Wiltshire & were steamed into by the OB - seemingly the 1st 'cut' of the BBC report showed how the OB instigated the violence.... they attacked the travellers homes smashing up all their possesions & were filmed attacking both men & women (one piece showed a pregnant woman being pulled out of her caravan by her hair.... emotive image I know but the source of this story seemed legit).... however as you can imagine the piece that was actually aired was selectively edited to cast the OB with halos & travellers as drunken marauding demons...

In an ideal world (which we're not in) we'd all have a much more direct say in any changes however small. I view the country like a big company, it's middle and top management mostly arseholes, and where the 'workers' opinions go largely ignored.

Hehe, I liked that line, had to highlight it.

No idea on how the best way to make ourselves herd(!), maybe we should dress as sheep and Baa Baa parliament at every given opportunity? (see what I did there)

A lot of things are still censored to a degree though, half a minute shaved off Fight Club for the UK release, there are many more examples, but that seemed silly to me, I don't like censorship in films, I like to make my own mind up, and having sat and watched nearly all the 'video nasties' of the 80's, uncut versions are harder to track down, yet if you mention this to a lot of people, they automatically get that look in their eye, "ohhh naughty man, he's watching dodgy fillums again" feh.

I thought all news policies did this?

I try and avoid the news if possible, as it's delivery isn't the best in most mediums, I'd rather sniff out anything that might interest me via the many links that surfice on messageboards and the likes. So it's not rammed down my throat throughout the day.

lol. "And now, Ladies and gentlemen - The undisputed heavyweights of arm chair politics". In the Red Corner, from Outa Space - Its Sirius - In the Blue Corner its Blue Jammer" hahaha.

Nah, jammer is right, and the sheep dressing this was a great turn on words . lol.

Im no better and going out changing things as anyone else, all I mean is nobody seems to care in this quite bizzare 'well, it going to happen isnt it, what can we do about it?" attitude. Hello - why?

I cant say Im a particular fan of the french, theyre alright, you know, but all these strikes we whinge about they pull at airports and lorries etc - at least they make a noise and just dont roll over and accept defeat like we do. We are quite pathetic that way, including myself.

Youre right, It is like a big company......however, if key staff are not heard, the business suffers and if messeges from everyday workers about failures or improvemrnts are not passed up the chain to the key staff, problems can not be properly delt with.
It should be a 'Bottom Up' or 'Middle Out' approach and not just 'Top Down'.
The thing is, the countrymen and women are the staff, and without a happy and profitable staff, your company fragments and ceases to work properly. To further the analogy, spongers are the ones who go to work and rely on somebody else's hard work to make them look like they do something.
The people are the engine of the country, they are the ones who make it work, not a 1% of polititians who decide for us, or doo gooder PC types who are not elected by anyone but theyre own self importance.

Its my experience that managers are two a penny, and key staff and a good workforce dedicated to thier jobs are hard to come by. Governments will come and go, but its the same old shite no matter who it is, all they do when a change comes in is undo billions of pounds worth of each others's projects, keeping the boat afloat in a constant diping and raising of things. We just lose out stumping up the taxes for it all, often things we never asked for. Saying that, I wouldnt vote Tory ever, anyway. lol.

Lol. I aint going head to head with BlueJammer hahaha, I dont think we are that opposed actually. :)

Sirius.

Well we're talking about it, and on an internet forum, so that's a start, next week we can start a thread about "ways in which we can tackle and manipulate the government" ;)

I cant say Im a particular fan of the french

 Oohhhhh you lie, tell me you lie, how can you not love the French, Amelie (the movie, not the bird on here) is a fine fine thing of beauty, as was Delicatessen, City Of The Lost Children and then you have the extreme side, Gaspar Noé, giving us such greats as Seul Contre Tous (I Stand Alone) and Irreversible (harrowing, yet compelling) - Ok they're just films, but when you watch them, you take in the whole French culture (dressed up somewhat by the directors) and music wise, I have to say Laurent Garnier and Daft Punk are two of France's greatest exports.

I've completely glazed over your point there haven't I, let me address it now,

theyre alright, you know, but all these strikes we whinge about they pull at airports and lorries etc - at least they make a noise and just dont roll over and accept defeat like we do. We are quite pathetic that way, including myself.

Yes, the Brittish really should start sticking up for themselves, but it's a lack of support by Unions that make a lot of people wary about speaking out. We should also be taking more notice of the Americans, as they are the real complainers, and put us to shame in that field. As well, I always think back to Fawlty Towers - we should have Basil shrieking at politicians, that'd make for an interesting debate hehe.

Don't get me started on spongers, or we'll be here all day/night!

Pauline (from League Of Gentlemen) would be my favoured character, we could get her round the streets shouting "Morning doley scum" that might stir things up a wee bit? ;)

Its my experience that managers are two a penny, and key staff and a good workforce dedicated to thier jobs are hard to come by. Same as management isn't it, let's see Manager A comes along and introduces a few schemes, cutbacks here and there, then 6-12 months down the line is either given 'garden leave' or is side stepped to another position, and along comes Manager B, who thinks "hmmm I'll do real good, better than that last turkey, for sure" and what do they do? make a bigger fuck up than the previous fucknut.

Lol. I aint going head to head with BlueJammer hahaha, I dont think we are that opposed actually. :)

Amen to that, brother ;) I banked that cheque you gave me earlier :p

It's good to have an interesting chin wag from time to time, it breaks up the "what's your favourite letter" type threads

Nicely put Bluejammer m8.

My only disagreement is that I personally dont buy into this 'french culture' obsession that is rife. Ofcourse, they have interesting views and arts and lets say 'flair' when it comes to cuisine - but I personally dont rate it above any other half decent country's efforts to be honest.

So (the oh so often used in arguments) Frogs legs and snail with side dressing followed by a horse steak (blood raw) doused in ten tons of garlic and onions is not somehow 'magically' fantastic for me.
It holds no higher place than a piella from spain or Italy's lasagna in my book. A lancashire roast is just as good (better in my view) than a lot of the stuff they are 'famous' for having. Its just that its prepared fancier and 'different' to other countries offerings which is perhaps the reason its taken on this stance.
Going on about French coultures can often be, *but not always*, a snobery and upperclass seeking mental perspective. "Oh yes I adore french films and just luuuurrve thier cuisine, yada yada ya etc". Those who genuinely are into it are quite rightly proud of that fact, others are just hangers on.
I respect thier general culture and Im not saying its bad or good, just not necessarily better than anyone elses in my opinion.
Ive sat and watched a few french films, which are more matters of the heart and feelings of situations of life, and thats good. Some of them go too far for me personally though in the name of art.

Anyway........you waer glasses for the same reason as me too! lol.

/blue jammer backtracks and eats his own hat...

I won't try any of that food to be honest, I'm a (very) fussy eater. As for steak blood raw, I won't eat it, I'll stand up and shout "that's still alive, take it away and cook it, you git!"

Steak has to be well done before I'll touch it.

So I like the French music and movies, but wouldn't poke a stick near their foods, I suppose I like the romanticisms of the French, oohhh la la, but if a French lady were to seduce me in the kitchen, I'd run out screaming "no, you've not cooked it properly you cloth eared bint!"

I've just had sausages and boiled spuds for tea, with splatterings of HP chilli sauce, ohhhh how sauve am I? hehe :p
