I got these emailed to me this morning and they made me laugh smile and nod a lot :D , thought I'd share them Knicker elastic An old lady was being interviewed by Oprah on her 70th birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. The old lady said it was exciting regarding body changes, she said there were many occuring every day, like her breasts. They seemed to be in a race to see which one could reach her waist first. The audience laughed so hard they cried, she was such a simple an honest woman with so much wisdom in her words. She said "I've learned that no matter what happens or how bad life seems today , life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. "I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he / she handles three things: a rainy day, lost luggage and tangled Christmas tree lights. "I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a living is not the same as making a life. I've learned that sometimes life gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catchers mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back. "I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart I usually make the right decision. I've learned that even when I have pains I don't need to be one. I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn. I've learned that people will forget what you said, what you did, but never forget how you made them feel. Right I've changed this from " A woman should" to "everyone" lol, cos I think it applies to both sexes Everone should Everyone should have one old love they can imagine going back to and one who reminds them how far they have come. Everyone should have enough money within their control to move out and rent a place of their own even if they never want or need to. Everyone should have something perfect to wear if the employer or date of their dreams wants to see them in an hour. Everyone should have a youth they're content to leave behind. Everyone should have a past juicy enough that they're looking forward to retelling it in their old age. Everyone should have a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill and a black lace bra. (Ok we'll say we'd swap on this one lol) Everyone should have one friend who always makes them laugh and one who lets them cry. Everyone should have a feeling of control over their destiny. Everyone should know how to fall in love without losing themselves. Everyone should know how to quit a job, break up with a lover and confront a friend without ruining the friendship. Everyone should know when to try harder and when to walk away. Everyone should know they can't change the length of their calves/hips (insert delete as appropriate :) ) or the nature of their parents. Everyone should know that their childhood might not have been perfect, but it's over. Everyone should know what they would and wouldn't do for love. Everyone should know how to live alone even if they don't like it. Everyone should know whom they can trust, whom they can't and why they shouldn't take it personally. Everyone should know where to go, be it their best friends kitchen table, or a charming inn in the woods when their soul needs soothing. Everyone should know what they can and can't accomplish in a day, month and a year. "People say what we are all seeking is the meaning of life. I think what we're really seeking is the experience of being alive" Rudyard Kipling
