Milk inc. - Land of the living

:D oh dear, oh dear, oh dear

Just heard this abortion on the radio. What a poor tune. Why can't they at least get someone decent to do vocals on these tunes, someone with some emotion in their voice instead of some session singer who's getting £10 in royalties.

The sooner this type of music disappears the better. Everytime you switch the radio on there's some shite emotionless tune on.

All these shite tunes that are in the charts, are they underground tunes, which are big on the club scene or are they just cheesy tunes meant for the charts? Is this the best on offer at the moment, the stuff all the kids love?

Not to sure, think its a mixture of ya cheesy beer boy cattle market style 'club' tunes and mixes of tunes played at the likes of Gatecrasher/Cream esque clubs.

Personally, I cant stand it as there is no emotion or differences from one choon to another and alot of what surely can only be termed 'cheesy' lyrics however some people like em :S

Each to their own, but you wont find me purposely going to places where this sort of 'tuneage' is being played.

Not sure cos I dont go, but from what ive heard they play remixes of some of the charty style tunes.

Ie They played that Zombie Nation alot at Cream when it was out a coupel of years back which wasnt my cup of teas.

You'll deffo hear that sort of stuff in ya city centre cattle markets a la 'Fridays' in Didsbury for those who know it...Ewwwww.

Look peeps, as some wise fool once told me, as long as the shite and chart music 'bobbins' is topping the bill, the more it keeps 'proper music' alive on the underground and people daring to have a go as a backlash against the tripe. Sort of makes sense.

Would I want to hear old skool and house all day everyday all the time year in year out - No - because it makes me appreciate it more and the feeling of being part of something special (I know, I know, get your tissues out and dry your eyes!)

You know, looking through the paper, I could have swore I saw a job advertised for shift work down the local pop group factory, quite good money, but the rotting stench of the last cast offs from the season before left out in the skips is just too much to handle....lol. Throw em in, milk em dry, chuck em away in a media circus, whilst grooming the next mugs who wanna hit it big then throw em in, milk em dry, chuck em awa............yes its tiresome trash and it makes you wanna cut your ears off to the inane uninspiring drivel which can only vanish up its own arse.

Every era has a music phase, like rock and disco etc which all die due to the saturation of shite which is promoted for no other purpose than money. The feeling and warmth of the music in question is lost in the hype and is indestinguishable from its next release.

Take this morning for example, I switched on the TV to find a bunch of uninspiring foursomes gestating and miming to the microphone doing some inane dance routine to a 'dance' tune to make them look less daft ans 'spare parts' because they dont play any instruments.
Could I tell who they were in the mist of similar groups - could I fooke - did I give a rats ass who they were? - no.

The thing with this type of 'club' tune is that the clubs are now record companies and/or subsiduaries of record companies and in the same way groups of four are forever being churned out the "Vocal Harmony Group" factory (lol) so too is dance music like this for the same reasons.

The thing thats most scary is the plebs who cant get enough. The term "Sheep" doesnt even come close, and those who dont dance to a dance music tune unless its been in the charts or on ministry's dance compilation volume 15,7689 need to be taken out and given a good slap. But as I say, as long as its kept mostly 'real' away from this stuff, we on the other side of the coin can remain.

Can you tell Im bored? lol. Ps, no brass instruments colliding with a 909 machine were mentioned in the post........:).

See yerz laterz

carry on up the charts

i've never heard the milk inc track so i can't comment on that one but i think it's safe to say that the tunes in the top ten are basically manufactured for the top ten.there is a lot of that style of music that never comes anywhere near the charts...which is good for me because i like some of it..each to their own though as you say..
i believe 'milk inc' have been round for a long time anyway playing that kind of stuff so all the best to em while it lasts...
i keep away from the compilations and away from the charts as much as i can, which is why i've never heard this record, but on the other hand imagine not listening to the radio for months, not even taking the slightest interest in the charts only to put radio 1 on the car radio to hear how 'joe smooth - promised land' was number 1 and that's the 'new music' what all the kids where listening to :spin: how shit would that be ?? the nightmare we thought would never happen...oldskool in the charts!!!!! :axe:
i'll put up with the crap personally because while it's there the real tunes are safe.
the industry has been trying though, there was a couple of oldskool rave CDs out a while back with smiley faces on em.i'm sure if they tried hard enough........
there's already enough oldskool nights kicking about for the kids to go to anyway, enough of us have had/still have our own oldskool nights...
ahh the irony of it all :ghost:

what's up with fridays??

that was a joke btw! havent been down for a year or two and very much doubt I have missed anything apart from a few mass brawls between rival scallies.

I would also be grateful if you would refrain from calling it didsbury (cos I live there) as it is clearly on the west didsbury/northenden border:p

Lol, sorry mate we'll just call it Northenden cos Didsbury's alright and if I start saying associating it with things like Fridays then reputations and house prices are gonna plummet.

I aint been there for a long time but like you say, all that Ive missed is very ugly fat slaps and fighting (and ya dont have to be in their for that sheeet) Best night I ever had in there was when Mitzo's ( the cars ;) ) were first out and I had to go there for a works do.

Had a few of the said and, well, twas a more enjoyable evening than the usual grimness the place provides.

As for Milk Inc, their the swedes who did that 'In my eyes' which was hammered at Wigan Pier and then on every fekkin 'dance' compilation about 2/3 years back arent they?? Not my cuppa. but I assume that this latest offering is even worse cos once these 'artists' get a taste for money then they tend to open up their own Gorgonzola factory a la Mr Allens CLOCK crew's venture into chart music and a few other notables who 'sold out' (tis where the moolah is though I suppose).

Good point on the fact of old skool being safe whilst the other stuff fills the commercial coffers btw - I prefer that 'safety net' myself to be honest. D'ya remember 95 ish when there were chart releases of Xpansions etc and I thought "Shite, this aint good for it at all".

with regards to the 'x-pansions' comment,i think you've got an excellent point.it's one of dance music's biggest flaws in my opinion.bringing out the old stuff when clearly there's no need to.i've seen (but not heard yet) there's a couple of 12"s of 'alison limerick-where love lives'knocking about on promo.i'm sure one of them was a trance mix ??? surley this needn't happen...i'm all for what's commonly/loosely known as trance nowadays, each the their own,but why re-release such a classic (again) and do something like that to it.i'm sure some things benefit from the remix treatment, others i'm not so sure.'opal - the snake' is another classic that was brought out a couple of years back,i think all the mixes were trancey/prog. anyway....
there's my view, soz for strying away from the original point of the thread!

Fair comment, but I'm sure for every Milk Inc. or Girls Aloud type of tune in the charts, they'll be a good band or artist making top music somewhere who desperately wants success and recognition, but because of this shite they can't get a record deal cause no record company will take a chance on them. Shame on everyone who buys this cheap sounding, recycled rubbish.
