He's gone !!!
Now you are going down ..
Leeds United have sacked manager Peter Reid after a turbulent 22-match reign.
Reid was dismissed after talks with new Leeds chief executive Trevor Birch at a Manchester hotel on Monday morning.
Leeds' directors held a summit meeting on Sunday to discuss Reid's future after the 6-1 thrashing at Portsmouth on Saturday.
An official announcement was expected to be made on Monday afternoon, with Leeds also required to inform the Stock Exchange.
The search for a successor will now begin, with Nottingham Forest's Paul Hart favourite to take over.
Reid only recently received a vote of support from the Leeds directors after his future was placed into doubt - but it appears the humiliation at Fratton Park was the final straw.
Hart heads a list of possible successors, which also include West Bromwich Albion's Gary Megson and Paul Sturrock of Plymouth.
Reid's future was subject to further speculation when he did not attend training on Monday.
Leeds are currently lying at the bottom of the table for the first time since 1980-81, when they were relegated from the former First Division.
Reid was on a one-year rolling contract worth a reported £850,000-a-year, a figure he will now pick up in compensation.
