You need to start posting interesting and diverse stuff. I posted the other day about washing your hands after taking a shit :$

this section of the forum needs to be higher up the first page to get more traffic. instead of "chillout room" call it "general chat" and have it right under "music chat". all the spotting/mixes/tracklist/wants can come after it.

i didn't even realise this section was here until a few weeks back because i'd never scrolled down the home page, ie. i never expected it to be so far down the page. all the other forums i've seen have it near the top of the page. this encourages a lot more banter and tomfoolery as punters see it straight away.

It used to be at the top of the page but it was moved as people didn't scroll down far enough to see music chat lol. I can speak with Butty and tell him ur comments to see what he thinks but that's good info to know dude

Cheers

I generated some interest on google+ this morning... would be nice if the site admin sorted a few niggles out tho like the spam cnuts and the new posts amount always saying more than there is.

Would love a new Radio n'all. I'd be happy to donate again if butty was having a whip round.

Seems to be more and more radio stations popping up sapping long standing forums members

last night I locked into ravers to listen to commodore, who is off his tits by the way lol

Now the music is not my taste at all but the shouty was alive

Having said that I had a good night on Friday with good banter in shouty on here

I just like playing but I think osa needs to up its profile as its by far the best source of things oldschool on the net and we should promote past and present members shizzle to keep it at the top of the pile

The site suffers from a couple of big issues, 1 a lot of members now have families and can not afford the time. 2 a lot of people have moved on from vinyl and even the scene having stopped going out etc. The end result is that only the die hards and people coming to have a quick look visit the site and participate in the radio.

If somebody helps me out, I'm willing to have a go if nothing else just to introduce some older stuff, some London based hardcore and European techno. I'm not going to make a big thing as I'm not confident in mixing and won't be able to commit to a regular slot but some more variety may help also some comedy laughing at my mixing!

some good points made there. I'm gonna give it a go too and play all sorts of styles. plenty of stuff I don't hear on osa. I've said it before that we need to break out of the strait jacket of piano/hardcore 90-92 because even the casual listeners to osa must have heard everything by now.

no disrespect to the regular jocks who play btw. just my opinion.

I should start playing in august some time, after my hospital visiting duties are over.

no no no, keep it old just more input from named dj's ie more guest slots from big guns

Old skool scene is very healthy in the Northwest and loads of nights etc going on its just osa does not promote itself like northern project etc but saying that its nice for the site not to be overloaded like others with all kinds of odd music which was after the scene died off.

The further back I go into my collection the better it gets

Instead of peeps posting there sets recorded and edited etc why not play live and fill the radio time with variety etc as there is so much music from back in the day that is rarely played and may become forgotten

I would love a acid house night, hip house/hop etc etc but its down to us lot to do it no one else will

So little fatty get your shizzle together and play away but no mid 90's kack lol

Just seen ravers paradise advertising for dj's ooosh whats happened there

Last night one of there lads asked to play on here so maybe the tide is turning

I wouldn't play mid 90's kak reet. I'd play all sorts from all years. mid/late 80s and early/mid 90s. jeez, there is some great stuff from the late 90s too yer know. I just find the idea of only playing from certain years quite restrictive. like I said before most peeps have heard most stuff anyway by now. I saw something where j90 said he was told anything between 1986-1999 was okay. that seems to encompass old skool to me. in reality old school to me is hip hop and electro anyway.

jus saying...

Oh......86.......that cuts out about 100 of the greatest house records ever made! Think I might break that rule so why not some later tracks too
