Liverpool's Cream to shut for good

Nationhands.jpg

Cream will not re-open in Liverpool.

The club closed in July for a 30-day review of its future in the city.

But they have now decided that apart from their 10th birthday celebrations' in October, Cream will remain shut.

However Creamfields will remain unaffected.

A spokesman for Cream told us they were sad to see the club close: "It's unfortunate that something that we've been involved in for the last ten years isn't performing as well."

just gos to show the state of music today
super clubs are no longer filling theyre doors lots of clubs are now monthly insted of weekly for this reason beacuse they jus cant fill em every week

i reckon this is coz most dance music is gettin staid and boring and not drawing the same crowds it used to

also the eclectic nature of good music is being ignored djs subject us to one style of music all night (i dont want to have to go to another room in a club to listen to somthing else a bit of everything please)

Iwould just like to say when i was a lad and used to go clubbing there was only only one type of music and that was house music and that seemed to cover everything. What they do now seems to confuse me, their are to many different styles IMO

The lad who promotes and DJ's a monthly drum & bass Friday at Nation was at ours to watch the footy yesterday. He reckons that the main room there is gonna be turned into an art gallery. Strange or what?

Also, about 6 months back, when Creams arse was going regarding the amount of punters they were getting - the courtyard was gonna become an old skool night called Journeys - in partnership with Juice fm. Now this may seem like bullshit but it's true, the residents were gonna be Graeme Park, Les Ryder and myself. It never came off - it was dead close to mind, I'm talking to the point of contracts being drawn up, just not signed. Ball ache eh?
