I have had one of these fit in my dining room, and they are top narna!

The last few days both Jonno and I have been scrapping over who is the 'fire master' as we both want the top dog position in front to faff and chuck more wood on.

There is something really odd about open fires and the like, i dunno if it makes me feel like a kid again starting fires etc, but it highly addictive.

Watching the fire, nursing the fire and having constant pokes at it is better then the TV lol.

Last night Jonno came to bed chuffed as he smelt of bommy lol, and got all alpha male over chopping wood.

Anyone else fans of fires?

:)

Fires are ace. As you said, when you've got it started it's almost impossible not to poke and prod it to help it burn better.

We have an annual fire on nye and i've been saving loads of stuff to burn. Can't wait tbh. lol How sad. :$

Remember the fire we built!!!!!

Searching through he woods for suitable burning material, sat getting black faced and poking the fire to try and get just an extra few minutes out of it!!!!

Happy days. :D

lol, that's the first thing I thought of...i still think of it when a put on a certain pair of trackie bottoms that have got a hole burnt in from one of the many exploding placcy bottles we put on..

that was a minter, we kept it going all through the night... & there's a bit missing from your story but we'll leave it at that ;)

Fire can be a bastard as well it appears.........

At aprox 1600 hours a flaming log fell out of the burner and onto my new beige carpet that was only fit on tuesday :(

I now have a log shaped burn on it, and stuupid Jonno suggested cutting out the burn and slotting in a new piece of carpet.

Watch out folks, whilst fun- fire can have its down side.
