I like the stuff Deepdish, sasha, danny howells, john digweed et al play these days........Ok, progressive house has been progressing too slowly over the last five years, but its all about a different mind set these days (for me, anyway). The tunes coming out are not as 'blunt' and forthright at years go by - but they are increasingly technical in thier composition when you sort the cheese from the wheat. The power of the even simplest changes as the track progresses isnt something to be underestimated if you really like any sort of prog house. The stuff is I hear and buy is more spacious these days and include elements of breaks, max graham is one such contender. I dunno what this paul okenfold new stuff is cos ive not heard it - is it boyband fodder meets dance music? Cos thats just gonna kill the entire scene cold dead if it is. I have to agree with mike, just becuase a stadium is packed out these days doesnt mean the artists are good musicians or have integrity. The fact is the majority of 'normal' everyday joe public jst suck up to whatever is deemed popular at the time.......whereas Im hopefull the majority on here are true dancemusic fans and know the difference between commercial money grabbing mass marketted drivel for the general public and tunes/scenes which are keeping things going in the background. I dont agree with milking it for every penny, but thats just me. Obviously some people require to make a living out of it and cant be blamed for that, but the likes of Mr Okenfold has made his millions and perhaps he should just fek off now before he degrades things even more (if the boyband dance thing is correct). Let others have a piece of the pie if moneys the sole object of making the music. Sirius.
