Stary Eyed Suprise wasn't a bad little track at all. Al - I've got to ask when exactly, for you, was Oakenfold "on legendary status"? The bloke's never really been that underground except at the very start. In 93 he was playing to 100,000 people when he was warming up for U2. From the mid nineties he's one DJ who I'd say always plays what the crowd wants to hear. If I went to something like Creamfields and was absolutely off my nut then Paul Oakenfold is one DJ I don't mind seeing, cause I know he'd play some tunes I know. I haven't heard him live for a bit mind, but he always had those signiture tunes - Eisbaer, Universal Nation etc. If you go and see the likes of Sasha, his set is always so upfront you've absolutely no chance of knowing the tunes. That's ok if you're listening to a CD at home - but when you're out and off it you wanna hear tunes you know (that for me is also the most likely reason behind the success of old skool nights). Years ago when you went out clubbing you'd be guaranteed to know at least half the tunes - everyone including the DJ's got the tunes at the same time. Now the top DJ's get sent tunes months before they even get a promo release. Oakenfold, whilst playing some totally upfront tunes still plays some tunes you'd know. That doesn't mean he's selling out it means he's just playing to the crowd and, for me, giving better entertainment. Let's be honest how many people here, who are giving an opinion, have seen either Oakenfold or Sasha live in the past 2 years?
