During my routine visit to the folks last night, my mum handed me 2 tapes- found earlier in her emporium of cassettes, and informed me:

'they must be yours, i have listened to them and they are terrible'.

One had 'mixed by Acky 11/9/91' wrote on it (Biskit, this is soo funny) and the other anonymous. Goes without saying i couldnt wait to get in the car and have a listen-being unheard for some 10 years or so.

Lol and when i did what a bloody treat!!!! Stuff i hadnt heard for so long, stuff that i had totally forgot about! I cant explain how good it was to hear some of the tunes again. Admitidly some of the mixin is a little suspect, but i was still grinning like a lune. I was litteraly dancing in the car all the way home, then had a full blown sesh in the front room for about an hour.

I love it when you find an old treasured tape, it makes me do this

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

oh, and to all those people waiting on me for swaps, sorry i am on with it now.

As i said the mixing is a little dodgy, the sound a bit muffled, but it is well wotrth a listen.

we high-jacked NOTHING!

We are still talking about old tapes ;)

Cam mate... I used to listen to the Floyds, hard rock and things along those lines.... Don't forget that I was not brought up in the UK and Olkskool didn't really hit France.... and my brothers influenced my music......

all that to say that I'm going to listen to them tonight :p

I like floyd, beatles, dire straights, bit of Dr hook, love clannad, but me bread and butter has got to be oldschool PIANO no shit on earth can give you the feeling like listening to the tune that first gave you your first ever propper rush :) im getting tingles now just writing this ! Thats the power of drugs and music :D

well old school is limited to tunes that have gone so i suppose you cant reall make an old school tune any longer, they can be remixed ( oops contraversial :p ) but not remade thats what makes them old school, thats what makes them memories thats what makes them so damn fuckin brilliant !

i think that 'wish you were here' is a beautiful song.........

Oh yes....

Wish You Were Here (Waters, Gilmour) 5:17

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

I don't have a favourite from them.... They are all beautiful... and it's hard to say which I refer...... grrrrr..... not easy...

hmmmmmmm
