Cant realy say exactly how it went coz I was so busy runnin around sorting stuff:S

But i did catch the last hour of DiY outdoors which was fantastic, and Chris Liberator played the best oldskool acid techno set i ever heard:fekked: phones: :jumpin:

Thankyou to all the osa people for their contribution, sorry I missed lots of it. Special gold star mention goes to Adam W and Radish for their sunday set on DiY's awsome Blackbox soundsystem, they had the whole place jumping, inc i noticed Chris liberator and Tiddles(his wife), and Digs(DiY) and a load of the DiY crew havin a propper dance.

Brill well done everyone, looking forward to next year.

peace and love4life!

..left Warwickshire at 12:05pm (exactly) and arrived in Helston about 18:45. Quick pitch of the old tent and straight to the bar for some proper cornish cyder.. The venue was a lovely old farm and courtyard with 2 ajoining fields for camping. We werent the last to arrive and by the time we got there, their were plenty of people ready to party. Took it easy on the friday as i was shagged and saved energy for the saturday. The tunes in all rooms were pumping and everybody was intent on having a very good time. The atmosphere was 'holiday' with a touch of 'wasted'.. as you can imagine. There were many highlights but one that sticks out for me was Don Carlos' 'Alone' blasting out in the courtyard.
Thank you to everyone involved in organising. Lets hope for more to come.

Movin' on up.
Well, well, well .. . .Where do I begin the adventures of Adam, Tilly, Neil D and Myself?

Friday.

After some first rate loading of the car from Adam, which just left enough room for three (at this stage) humans to get in the car we set off for the Cornwall at about 11:00am. The journey was pretty good with just a slight hold up near Stoke due to V Festival traffic. We made our first and only stop near Bristol for a leg stretch and a bite to eat and then completed the trip to Cornwall with little drama. We arrived at the festival site at about 6PM to be greeted by friendly marshalls, camper vans and mud! We were directed to the top field where we located "Camp OSA" populated by Debs, Alex, Liam, Abigayle, Will, Scott & Benny. We also bumped into Dave and Helen who were responsible for putting on the event, what a top couple they are!

Adam had his tent up in about 10 minutes, where as my four man, two bedroom affair from Tesco was a ball ache. Despite the help of 3 or 4 people it had the better of us for over an hour only then to find out a part was missing!

Anyway with that drama sorted, out came the Beer and the we all could chill! The Picks Crew had been playing down at the venue whilst we got sorted. We headed down to the Long Barn to watch Adam W play 2 hours of really good Legends style downtempo music. He played a really good set.

I proceeded to get very drunk on Keyhole Cocker, the local ale and spent a fair bit of the evening wobbling around or falling over! We had an mini party in our tent, where we were joined by Superdan, Vee & Butty who had finally made it down and also my mate Neil D, who I asked "where are you on my mobile" only to turn round and see him in front of me!:fekked:

Eventually people drifted off to bed and I passed out.

Saturday.

Woke up with a fuzzy head. However, Tilly sorted us all out with a top full English. Much of the afternoon was spent lazing around drinking beer, but eventually we dragged my rediculous number of records down to the Farm in preparation for the nights music. By this time we had also met up with Harri, Sonic 92 and his lovely girlfriend Maria and Silky and his crew.

The festival was set around a farm courtyard with 3 rooms/barns. The main room was a big barn that opened out onto the farm yard that housed DIY's original Black Box soundsystem and had an elevated DJ area up in the rafters. What a beautiful sounding rig, it was fantastic! DIY had been on it all day playing their blend of garage based deep house and had it locked on a groove all day and night!phones:

Debs (Northern Star) played a great set of progressive tunes to kick the Bunker off, well done mate! Meanwhile, upstairs in the Long Barn, Butty kicked off the 4 Hours of OSA house classics at 7PM. The venue was ace, had great wall projections and a decent sound system.

I followed on from Butty's set of classics and played an off the cuff set which I really enjoyed and apart from a bit of trouble with a jumping stylus it went well. I probably enjoyed playing "nobody likes the records that you play" the most.

By this time the room was filling up a little more and I handed over to Alex Bennet to bring it home for OSA, which he did with knobs on. Alex played some great slightly moodier house and mixed it superbly.phones: I thought you played one of the sets of the weekend.

Alex handed over to Cass Roc (top bloke) of Krush who played an hour or so before DIY were moved inside to the Long Barn. DIY. . . .What a great bunch! They all looked spannered by this point and it was a miracle they could play at all, but play till 3am they did. It was as much fun watching them as listening to the tunes, pure comedy. . . .God Bless Them! Down in the Bunker, Chris Liberator and his gang were playing some banging Acid Techno which went down a storm.

We headed back to our tents a little worse for wear and got even worse!
I was given some really nice cards, but avoided the bumps! It was a nice moment though. Thanks guys.

Sunday (My Birthday)

Morning broke and that was not all that was broke. . . .there were some sorry states on the camp site. Somehow Tilly managed to cook another fry up although I could only eat a bacon sarnie and one of Alex's Rennies!

Neil and Adam were straight on the Stella. I just went for another freezing cold shower. The Picks crew decided they were making their way home and we saw them off.

Adam and I had the great pleasure of playing the main courtyard on DIY's rig to look forward to in the afternoon. I decided that 200 records was a stupid amount to drag around and settled on just taking one bag, not least as you had to climb a ladder to get to the DJ booth! We just about had the energy to do nothing at all until about 3:30 as we were due on at 4:00

We made our way down to the courtyard got sorted and then Adam took to the decks and played a blinder. Classic after classic of cool down/mid tempo tunes. All his Legends experience came to the fore and he quickly started filling up the dance floor. This was a musical departure from what had been played on that rig for most of the weekend, so it was always a slight concern of mine that they may not get it.. . . .but they did!

Then a little moment for Tilly. Adam very kindly let Tilly play the last tune of his set, before handing over to me. Tilly dropped Saturdays Angels - If.

We had been due to play until 6:30 and the festival close at 9PM, however due to a mistake on the paperwork it had to finish at 7PM, so the great honour fell to me of playing through to the end and closing the festival.

Adam had left me in the perfect place to just push it on a little and I played a blend of mid tempo Legends tunes such as Intergalactica and Sam Mollison, but also some classic style house like Kariya and Royal House. By this time it was pissing down outside and the Barn was in full swing with the Liberator techno heads and the DIY Crew joining in. Penultimate tune was Joe Smooth and you could hear people singing their hearts out down below. I faded it down and the place was going mental for "one more". . . .I dropped The Beloved - Sweet Harmony and I will never forget it. The whole barn was singing, arms above their heads, big smiles. My friends including Dave (with a huge grin on his face) were alongside me on the DJ gantry and it was a special Birthday moment I will never ever forget. Thanks to all for making it special!

We went back to the camp site in the relentless rain and had a bit more fun huddled in our tent! I had to drive so called it a day early, but Neil and Adam followed some tunes and ended up dancing in a teepee.

Monday

I woke feeling much better, which was good as I had a long drive ahead of me! Adam and Neil. . . .Oh dear!:fekked: Talk about walking wounded!

Well, we packed our belongings. . .said goodbye to Sonic 92 and Maria and went to thank the main two people of the festival.

Dave and Helen, what a great party you organised and all the months of planning paid off. I can't imagine the efforts it must have taken and everyone appreciates what you achieved. You are also two lovely people.

The End. . . .until next year!;)

On Cloud 9!!!
Well where do i begin :hubba:

Set off about half 7 Fri morning to land in Helston about 1ish in the afternoon. The weather wasnt the best but it did stop raining whilst we pitched the tents up and stayed dry for the rest of the evening more or less

Met up with Helen and Dave when we got there which was lovely. Great to finally see u both

Had a lovely spot campin all the crew in the same spot tucked up in a nicely sheltered corner - felt really quite cosy lol :p

Once we pitched and got sorted me and alex got ready to explor and we were not disappointed - What a fabulous venue. Only a short walk down to the place from the tent - everything was compact and really quaint... three main rooms with the bar area upstairs - nice long room with seating area as you walked in, then the bunker below with the open barn courtyard just opposite. In the centre of all the madness was a food bar area - clean toilets with plenty of loo roll and showering facilities. Big campfire too which was ace to chill in front of :luv:

Alex played the bar Fri avo warming up with some lovely downtempo beasties and the sound system was great, very bassy and warming. Was great to see kiddies and dogs just running around enjoying themselves as much as the big kids hehe ;)

Adam W played in the bar a little later on and dropped some ace tunes as well  everyone had a good old dance for most of the afternoon and evening until Alex decided it would be a really good idea to be the biggest kid on camp and in a drunken stated proceeded to jump on the bouy swing hanging from a tree and cracked his ankle so he couldnt walk :axe: We all ended up back at the tent for a chin wag and more drinkies then fell asleep only to be woken at 6 am in the morning by ben and scott having a two hour long convo about bean burgers

Think most of us felt a little worse for ware on the Sat morning but that didnt stop us from cooking up breakfat sausages and eggs etc well needed before limping (alex) back down to the complex for another mooch. Had a chill in front of the fire and there was some lovey slow nu soul sounding stuff booming from the DIY sound system. Gotta say that system was amazing. We could hear it for miles down the road when we took a walk to tesco lol :p

Sat night was great fun tho, went and had a listen to benny and funky t doing their thing in the bar then it was my turn - i really enjoyed playing a bit of progressive house in the bunker once id finally got my head round the allen n heath mixer and the tunes sounded great on a big system hehe ;) we all the trotted over to the bar area where Butty was banging out the classics had a bit of a boogie with Vee who was a superstar  Thanks for the loan of ur pendant babes  We came back in a little later on to hear Chris belting out some wikked tunes - the 'Nobody likes' tune was the one that did it for me blew me away did that nice one  Then Alex took over after Chris - As always played a blinder and i was absolutely gobsmacked at the mix out of sasha carassi into beltram energy falsh - it went of for what seemed like hours lol! awesome! Everyone seemed to have a good dance happy smiling faces everywhere you looked all night :spin:

When Al finished his set we popped back up to the tent to put the records away - had a few more drinkies before hopping back down the courtyard ;) The minute we walked out of the toilet we heard Don Carlos - Alone coming in and promplty legged it round the corner to squeeze into a massively packed barn and went mental - that was the moment of the whole wk end for me and Alex very special  and i might have known our Harri was in there too cus he found us bopping away and came over and gave us a great big hug - loving it as much as we were - just like the old dayz

Alexs alnkle gave in not long after so we hobbled back to the tent and chilled out. We had a decent kip lol but again early morning alarm calls from next doors tent to the sound of Scott snoring so loudly he would have out done the DIY sound system  pure comedy :p

We left Sunday afternoon just before Chris and Adam played there sets which i was sorry to miss but i know they rocked it ;) and well in Ads for letting Tils play the last tune and what a tune it was too

We went on a little road trip thereafter to St Ives, Lizard and Crantock before coming back to the North having had a top top time all round.

Big thanks and respect to Helen and Dave for inviting us to come and play and be involved in a really fantastic event  Everything was just perfect and it couldnt have been better organised. Very friendly people too  This was Alexs first camping outdoor festie type event and he really wants to do it again - and i have to say ive been to many but this really summed it all up for me. We will defo make the effort to attand any more you do above any others phones: Word to everyone involved

Also want to say a huge thanks to my Alex for driving down there and putting up with me over the last couple of months stressing about tunes and mixing etc etc

I've had a week to recover now and a bit of time to reflect on last week's event... what a great time!

I really can't add much to what's already been said but it was a pleasure to play and socialise with a great bunch of people at a relaxed, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable event. Massive thanks to Dave & Helen for great organisation, and it was great to meet all the people from the board and finally put names to faces.

Really enjoyed doing the sunday session on the DiY Black Box Soundsystem and it was great to see those records go down so well.

Special mention to Chris for driving and Tina for being "record roadie" and I look forward to doing it all again next year.... :D

That'll be 6 pounds please!
Ha!, sorry dude!, the venues staff were a bit flakey sometimes, but your crew wrist band should have given u 50% discount on any food or drink u got for yourself.

Thankyou everyone for your reviews, it was a fantastic weekend of music and smiles in an informal environment, as authentic as we could manage at that site.

I have also taken note of the very few negative comments we recieved over the weekend and will be back next year with a new venue and control over the bar and catering:thumbsup:

Now I just gotta find a suitable site, and persuade the licensing pannel:S
