i would like to make my own cd. i have vinyl turntables and i would like to know what equipment i would need to make a cd through my turntables and
onto my laptop. also what sort of price range it would cost. thanks.

Hey M8,

Usually the Laptop doesn't have a Line In, so an External Usb sound card is used instead (about £19.99 from CPC, Maplin and the like).

Then go from the mixer output using a 2x phono to 3.5 mm jack connector lead into the external sound card.

Then choose your recording method, Goldwave, Soundforge, Cooledit, Audacity etc etc.. choosing line in as input.

Easy as that.

so once i have purchased a sound card i then must install a music programme
